You would log the hours you either used someone else for babysitting or babysat for others and as long as it evened out every month no one had to pay. </p> <p>It's not really something that would work in NYC since first of all I don't even live close enough to my friends who have kids to be able to drop them off and second all of the moms who do live nearby are rich enough that they don't need the co-op. I also toyed with the idea of having a dentist appointment during my husbands lunch hour so he could watch her while I had a cleaning since his office is close by. I had to schedule an evening appt and make DH come home a little bit earlier. But our bedtime is later than yours so I could still put LO down. Does your LO take a bottle, maybe your DH can put her down for one night? Or I went to get a bang trim once on the weekend when he was home.<br /> I finally went to the dentist yesterday and needed my sister to watch LO. She's a mellow kid, but won't remain in a stationary stroller or car seat very long, if she's awake. I occasionally utilize my retired dad, and bring him along. For haircuts and stuff, I'm lucky that my husband is home most afternoons do I can just go. I haven't had a hair cut since June but one of them usually comes over for a couple hours once a week so I can get out and run errands. LO refuses a bottle though so I always have to rush around quickly, but at least I get out for a bit. I have brought her to my doc appointments before though. Of course, running errands is a much more complicated process with baby in tow, but I can manage the grocery store, Target, etc. And my dentist office is so nice that they insisted I bring the baby and the front desk ladies entertained her while I had my teeth cleaned and they encouraged me to BF in the waiting room. </p> <p>But I desperately need a hair cut and I just don't know when I can do it. DH works fairly long hours and usually gets home right before bedtime (7-7:30). We don't have any family nearby and our friends all work or have their own babies to take care of. </p> <p>I had the idea that I'd be able to schedule things like that during the day since I didn't have a 9-5 schedule, but duh, I have the baby then! How do you do it? </p>
