I kind of have a schedule. We wake and get dressed. I throw in a load of laundry. We eat breakfast. After breakfast we have independent playtime where DS is in the living room with the gate up. During this time I unload the dishwasher and reload all the breakfast dishes (we run the dishwasher every night before bed) and clean the kitchen and dining room. During nap time I fold the laundry and make dinner. All other chores are done when ever i can fit the, those are my only scheduled tasks and I do them that way everyday so they don't fall behind.

@Seattlemom: Oooh, I like that cleaning chart! I may just have to try that. I'm just so bad at sticking to routines, but it definitely is doable. Thanks for posting!

I don't have a cleaning schedule. I just wing it every week. :) My son is 18 months and plays well independently for about 10-15 minutes at a time, so while he's playing in the family room or while he's in the highchair at meal times, I can vacuum, mop, dust, do dishes. Bathrooms I do when my husband is home on the weekend or while J is napping. Laundry I do sporadically, too. Some days I do a few loads, then skip a few days and do more. Other weeks I'll do almost one load a day. I really have no schedule at all. Probably would be better if I had one, but I hate schedules. :)

I don't get much done while LO is awake (she is 14-months). She typically doesn't stay in one spot long enough for me to get anything done. I typically clean and do laundry during her first nap and prep dinner during her second nap.

No schedule exactly!

LO is 22.5 months and I can do a lot of things during the day like throwing in laundry, sweeping, making beds, putting away clothes, and doing the dishes. Bigger stuff has to wait for when he is sleeping or at school :). Some days I get a ton done when he feels like playing independently. Other days I get nothing done while he is awake. I do cook but more complex meals I orep while He is napping. Or throw on Daniel tiger while I cook ;)

No. I always say I'm going to make one but never get around to it.

I can usually get the following done while he is awake:
-floors (we have a Roomba)
-mop the floors (I wear him)
-vacuum (I wear him)
-laundry (although he likes to unfold everything I just got done folding!)
-dishes/counters (he plays with pots and pans on the floor)
-dusting (while he plays in whatever room I'm in)

The only thing I have to do while he is sleeping are my bathrooms.

Some days I get a lot done, others we play allllll day :)

I did not have a set schedule...I did a lot of cleaning while my son was napping. I'd use the swiffer on the floors (all tile) and I would mop once a week, when the sitter came usually, or on the weekend when my husband would take my son out for a bit. Our bathrooms I would spot clean pretty much daily, i would keep a scrubby sponge in the shower and would scrub while I conditioned my hair, for example.

I did laundry pretty much every day because our washer was tiny. I did ironing once a week, again during a nap time.

I have a chore schedule. Mon - bathrooms, Tuesday - bedrooms, Wednesday - kitchen, Thursday - errands bills/mail and meal planning, Friday - dusting, vacuuming, mopping Saturday - outdoor stuff or cleaning out cars, Sunday - any bulk meal prep or baking I might have.

There are definitely days something doesn't get done but it keeps me from getting too far behind on anything. We're pretty well baby proofed so I usually just gate us into whatever room with some toys for LO, turn on some music and go quickly. Bathrooms are the hardest because I don't want her to touch anything dirty or be around the chemicals so I usually wait til dh is around if I can help it.

I don't have a schedule. I do things as needed and just kind of rotate through chores every few days. It's gotten way harder as she's gotten older bc she's on 1 nap and we go out every morning from 9:30-12:30.

Obviously there are the everyday chores - dishes, tidying the kitchen and playroom. And just cooking or doing meal prep takes a lot of time out of the day. I can vacuum while she's awake but I clean the hardwood and mop those areas during nap time. She likes to help with laundry - she will put all the clothes from the basket into the washer/dryer but I like to fold during nap bc it takes so much longer when she's trying to help me. I can wipe counters and dust while she's awake too. But I don't do bathrooms until she asleep bc I don't want her around the cleaners even if they're green products...and they just smell harsher/stronger than my kitchen cleaners. I'm sure I'm forgetting other stuff but I think you'll just find a groove after being home for a few days

Nope. Maybe if I only had one LO ... but who am I kidding, probably not even then.

I just try to exploit little opportunities throughout the day. Cleaning the kitchen/unloading dishwasher as DS eats or the baby is in the jumperoo. Folding/sorting laundry in view of the tub during bathtime. General decluttering during any screentime.

But I don't really cook -- otherwise I would probably have to use any screentime for that. I should also note that my DS is horrible at playing by himself. If your LO will play alone, I would absolutely do light housework during those periods.

ETA: Any higher-level cleaning like bathrooms just doesn't get done unless DH is home too. And I have to work during anytime both kids are sleeping.

I'm horrible at keeping focused while home. I need task lists etc.

Today starts my "temporary" PT SAHM status. I plan to go back back to work full time and am looking for a temp job until I deliver. So this isn't a long term plan.
But anyway, until then I want to make sure I still get chores done. Do you have a chore schedule? How do you not play all day with your LO?! :)

What tasks do you find easier to do while LO is awake?

BTW LO is 23m so it's totally doable for me to get chores done intermittently with her awake.
