I SAH full time but our summer vacation doesn't start until next week. I find naptime to be huge for me to recharge and even when we do it late I start to lose my patience big time! LO1 doesn't always nap but on those days I make him play quietly in his room. Even LO2 skips sometimes and same thing - he must stay in his crib for mommy's nap! We have a routine leading up to it - books, music, snuggles, potty, nap or quiet time. I would probably start there! If not, does your gym have babysitting? You could always incorporate that as a mid-day break.
I find it most helpful to try and plan out our week beforehand. We try to have lots of play dates if we don't have any other scheduled activities. If it's going to be a brutally hot day, we go for a really early morning walk and trip to the play ground. Could you sign up for any activities or get a membership somewhere? We have a zoo membership and will be doing swimming lessons. I'm not sure what your religious stance is but the churches around us offer vacation Bible school for like $25 for the week! We don't go to church but I would've done it if it fit in our schedule! Also are there any local parenting groups? Ours sends out weekly and monthly emails filled with local events. And don't forget the local libraries! Maybe you could check out a new one each week on the bad weather days.
I'm sure you will get in a groove soon and be sad when vacation is over!

Oh man, no nap/quiet time for either?! My first order of business would be to try to institute some sort of quiet play in the afternoon. My oldest (4) no longer naps, but she gets one show and then plays in her room quietly while my younger (18m) naps from 1-3.

Other than that, we try to do an outing in the morning: library storytimes, go to the Y, playdate, zoo/aquarium, whatever. Usually come home for lunch (outside when possible! less to clean up!), do quiet time, and then afternoon varies. This week we have swim lessons for my older, which is both annoying AND helpful to have somewhere to be! We tend to do something more low-key like going to the park or playing outside (or, if weather is bad, letting them build forts or generally make a mess as long as they aren't killing each other). I try to only cook real/complicated things on days when we can be home...other than that, it's a combination of leftovers, things I've frozen previously, quick meals, crockpot, or takeout.

Go easy on yourself! I'd go crazy if I didn't have a break until 9p!!! Heck, I go crazy some days when I do :)

I have a hard time coming up with ideas sometimes too. I just saw this today on Instagram and thought it might help if I have some ideas. She posted ideas for each day on her blog. I'm thinking I might come up with a routine to do one activity at the same time every day.

There is not a TON to do here. I hate to spend $$$ needlessly--so I'm trying to think of lots of things to do around the house and keep them occupied at the same time without watching a lot of tv.

I am seriously zapped and I'm only on week 2. I think this week will be good because we have several people coming over to the house on different days and several appointments, but with them not napping AND going to bed between 8-9 at night, I feel like I can't even adult.

Actually my 3 year old is up right now. We are ignoring him completely. I'm starting to think something is wrong with him--he won't stay in bed and doesn't nap!!

My big girl (almost 3.5) is in school MWF mornings.
Monday after drop off I aim to get to a drop in playgroup for my middle (17 months) while the baby (5 months) sleeps in her car seat. Lunch at home, pick up big sis, naps until 3:30ish for the little two and QT (usually coloring) with my big girl and meal prep. We then hang out in the backyard until dad comes home.
Tuesday we go to the neighborhood playground in the morning while the baby naps in the carrier. Afternoons are pretty much the same all week. Maybe an errand mixed in.
Wednesday I have baby mama boot camp after drop off. Lunch, pick up, naps, repeat. I have our nanny in the afternoon so if I don't have work to do my big girl and I go out together while the little two nap at home.
Thursday I try to do a bigger outing... Zoo, museum, farm. Naps in car on the way home. Leftovers from Wednesday for dinner.
Friday. I do appointments and errands with the little two while big girl is at school. In the summer my husband takes Friday afternoons off so we go to the park/get an ice cream together once the little ones are awake.

It's boring, monotonous, and wonderful.

I must say, bless you. I don't know how you are doing it without nap time!

Besides that, we're going to do swimming lessons, the Chilren's Museum, the zoo, the library, and play dates on a pretty regular rotation. I feel like a need the schedule to keep myself from going crazy! My kids are 3.5, fwiw.

What is a typical day like with your kids? Schedule? I have a 2 and 3 year old and am home with them for 7 more weeks of the summer. Neither of them take naps anymore!

We'll take a couple of trips here and there, but good grief--they are already wearing me out!
