Thanks again so much for your welcome and advice.

@Twoofeverything- Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I know you put a lot of time and thought into that post. And I appreciate it greatly. I think the idea of dates nights were especially fun. It would give me something to look forward to.

I also like the idea of really focusing on the abs. I have a lot of strength training I want to work on. My chiropractor is also hosting a 100 day fitness challenge starting mid-January. :)

Oh honey I am so so so sorry about all of your difficulties. Insurance covers so many stupid things and then it won't cover something as huge as fertility. Makes my heart sink. The bee is a beautiful little community full of loving and supportive people from all walks of life. I hope we can give you the support you will need to get through your journey and i hope you end up with a sweet baby on the other side. Big hugs to you and welcome.

It took us over 5 years to become parents and even when the going got rough (mostly financial worries from IF, medical bills etc.., and this overwhelming sadness from a MC) I never gave up the dream! My biggest regret is not taking the right steps to become parents sooner. I let work, fear of the unknown, and excuses get in the way. Good luck and so sorry about the insurance issue, hopefully they will let you work out a payment plan.

Welcome!
Our TTC process was rough, and we ended up doing 3 rounds of medicated/IUI cycles before IVF. Our first transfer was unsuccessful, and I had to correct cervical stenosis with some painful procedures to make our second round -- an FET -- a success. It gave us our B/G twins, who are now almost 13 months old!

My #1 advice on staying grounded would be to take care of YOURSELF in ways that will help you conceive. Acupuncture and massage are awesome -- I did both. But for me, the key was to focus on working out...especially my abs/core...I wanted that area to be in-shape!

#2: Connect with the other TTC Moms here on HB, even if you just lurk on the boards, (I am SO GUILTY of this),

#3: Try to carve-out regular date nights with your DH, (we did these twice a month while TTC, and we banned all TTC conversation during dates!).

#4: This is hard, but promise yourself that you WILL be a mother. We were actually scheduled for an adoption orientation seminar at one point because it helped us feel that we were doing SOMETHING other than wait for ovulation and pee on sticks.

Also...some "don'ts"
- Personally, I wouldn't shop for baby clothes until you are pregnant and past the "danger stage." Obviously it's a very personal decision, but I did this to myself twice, (one I bought while TTC, and the other after I was 3 weeks into an unsuccessful pregnancy). To this day I have two sad little onesies sitting in my closet. I can't get rid of them...but I can't look at them, either.
- Don't feel like you have to go to baby showers or comment on every FB pregnancy/birth announcement/baby update. Its okay to be silent, and -- if you're close enough to the person to be comfortable doing it -- to share the reasons why. They will understand.
- Don't spend every spare moment Googling TTC. At some point, you will end up putting your post-coital legs in the air while your DH shoves 6 pillows under your butt. Super sexy!
- Don't POAS until you are at least 14DPO. Or do, but have a bottle of wine handy. (If you're too scared to have a drink while TTC, at least tape a good trashy TV show!)

It's a tough process, but I deeply believe that you will find a way -- some way -- to be a mother

I'm not sure how long we will do TI. My uterus and tubes are good. When I ask DH he says "we'll cross that bridge when we come to it." :: sigh : What does that even mean? It will probably come down to when we can afford IUI. Maybe 6-8 months?

Lots of people post from their phone? H'm. I will have to give it a go. The reproductive endocronologist gave the number, because we have a low sperm count, terrible morphology and I have the egg count of someone in their mid-40s. It was shocking news. It felt crushing. And 48 hours later I was informed that my insurance was dropping fertility treatment.

@Snowdrop: Looked into this today, and apparently the UPLOAD AVATAR link doesn't show up if you're using iOS5 or earlier versions of the iPhone OS... since those versions of the iPhone operating system don't support photo uploads!

Is it possible that you're using an earlier iPhone OS? Let me know!

@lunarsongbird: if you don't mind me asking why have you got such a low chance of conceiving? Do you have a plan in place? I think it's really good that you got tested so early. It seems pointless going through all the ttc stress just to find out you need the help anyway. I started testing at month 4 as I had a suspicion something was wrong...so glad i did!

Welcome! Just knowing that you need the support of a community like this is the first step in staying grounded and relaxed through the process. The other thing I would say is that while the POAS thread each month is a great space to share and learn about TTC, try not to let it get you crazy. Try not testing too early before expected AF to prevent too much unnecessary heartbreak.

Hello All!

I hope that I can join your community here on hellobee. I've never been a bee. When I was waiting to get engaged and married, I was on the Knot. (I ultimately ended up leaving). So when DH and I decided to finally start TTC (DH set timeline)- I ventured over to the Bump and it seemed like so many people there were mean and snarky. I would think that all that negative energy would not be the most beneficial space to surround yourself in when trying to create life.

I've tried to take a very holistic approach in preparing and despite having very low chances of conceiving naturally (1% chance), I would like to continue a very grounded and nurturing fertility journey. I have finally found the love I have for myself and try to grow it each day. I go to a chiropractor and acupuncturist weekly in an attempt to push myself to a healthier place.

How long have you been TTC? Do you have any advice on how to stay positive and grounded?
