Here's the link to the the older thread. I kind of went nuts on the recommendations. It's my hometown and I miss it! My fave beach is Coronado, beside Hotel Del. There's a sweet little ice cream parlor on the hotel and you can relax and have it on the large deck overlooking the beach <3

Cars are definitely a necessity unless you are sticking around a very small area - which would be a bummer because there is SO.much to do here! If you're leaning towards the zoo, I definitely recommend it. We have passes and go frequently to walk around. LO isn't super aware of the animals yet, but we are ;) and there are so many cool exhibits.

The older post on san Diego has lots of great recommendations, too :)

You definitely need a car. There was a recent thread about San Diego ideas that might help, just search for it.

My DH and I have always dreamed of going to San Diago. ( the zoo is the major attraction I will be honest.....) We are tenitively thinking of driving out there next summer. Not sure if it will happen. Will depend on other things that can't plan now.... But...
Any bees from Around there or been there? Suggestions? Tips?? Where to stay, things to do, etc. thanks!!

We hope to drive as we have never spent much time in the us, but are open to flying of we don't have the time that would be needed. It would take us 2 long days of driving but we might spread it out to 3 to see some things. ( mapquest tells me 33-35 hours of driving) also thought that having a car would be nice so we don't have to rent. Or is a car not needed??
