I kind of went nuts on the recommendations. It's my hometown and I miss it! My fave beach is Coronado, beside Hotel Del. If you're leaning towards the zoo, I definitely recommend it. We have passes and go frequently to walk around. ( the zoo is the major attraction I will be honest.....) We are tenitively thinking of driving out there next summer. Not sure if it will happen. Will depend on other things that can't plan now.... Where to stay, things to do, etc. thanks!! </p> <p>We hope to drive as we have never spent much time in the us, but are open to flying of we don't have the time that would be needed. It would take us 2 long days of driving but we might spread it out to 3 to see some things. ( mapquest tells me 33-35 hours of driving) also thought that having a car would be nice so we don't have to rent. Or is a car not needed?? </p>
