The night wasn't available when we needed it though. I researched it though and it looked super nice. My brother highly recommended it. US Grant is nice. Hard Rock is fun and in an awesome location at the base of the Gaslamp District. (Please eat at Nobu if you are interested in amazing food.) The W is quite a few blocks off the Gaslamp and my least favorite W of all time. The Marriott is near the Omni and the Hard Rock and nice too. Hotel Solymar is cool and maybe a little better priced. Private beach and you really feel as though you are staying at a resort. I'd search on tripadvisor, but I really like boutique hotels... There's a couple Kimpton hotels; Hotel Solymar (rooftop bar) and The Palomar. The W isn't quite walking distance from most places so I'd avoid it. We had our car so it wasn't too far away from downtown and was really relaxing and quiet.
