We looked into it a little more, and we saw they have a tour at nighttime. The reviews say that tour is a little spookier feeling, and you get a tour guide leading your group instead of listening to an audio recording. I think we're going to go with that one. I personally think it's a fun. DH who loves museums (like seriously reads the little card in front of all artifacts type person) really liked it a lot!</p> <p>Like others have said, get tickets in advance. Buy tickets online in advance- they sell out. We enjoyed it. I liked taking the ferry there, and the history and stories were really interesting to me. We were in SF for a whole week though so we had plenty of free time to do this. We've never been before, so we want to make the most of our time there. We can't decide if seeing Alcatraz is worth it, or if it's mainly a tourist trap. My husband enjoys museums and history, but he's worried Alcatraz will be boring. Plus it will take up a large chunk of our time. Thoughts? </p>
