Save! I've even given milk that smelled off (but tasted fine and she didn't seem bothered by it) and there were no adverse effects whatsoever.

If it smells/looks/tastes fine I would save it. Mix it in with some newer milk when you use it. I rarely tossed milk (if ever)....you worked hard for that liquid gold!

I have done the same thing, left if it in my purse, but I have forgotten it all night! She was healthy (not an infant or premie or anything) and it looked/smelled ok so she took it to school with her!

I would save it as long as it doesn't smell spoiled ... I've heard multiple times from lactation nurses that bm will smell distinctively sour when it's gone bad.

I agree with @mrsjyw:. I never throw out milk that smells and looks OK (unless it's been something crazy like all day long).

I'd save it. If it smells okay then it's fine in my book esp under the conditions you mentioned above :)

I left two bottle of milk out for about 8.5 hours.
-One was pumped at noon and refrigerated until 4pm (4oz).
-The other was pumped at 4pm, never refrigerated (5oz).
I forgot my cooler bag but put both bottles in a plastic bag bundled together with a cold bottle of water.
-They traveled in my air conditioned car and then sat in my house (68 degrees) until 12:30am when my memory kicked in. I put them in the fridge at that point.
-Not sure if I should toss one or both? I've read different things ranging from 4-10 hrs being okay.
-I don't have a freezer stash, so what gets tossed will be replaced with formula, which she did get once for the first time the other day (daycare messed up).

What would you do?
