I had a blow out when I was younger. A man stopped and helped me because he said he would want someone to do the same for his mom and sister. I thanked him and moved to a safe place to wait on my parents to arrive. It's a long story, but I could have ended up in a very precarious and dangerous situation if he hadn't selflessly offered his assistance. I thanked him profusely, asked for his name, which he shared, and then I asked him for a business card or an address that I could send a gift to as I didn't have any cash on me. His response was, "I don't need anything, just making sure you were safe is more than enough of a gift." Besides profuse thanks, do you offer them anything else: cash, to pay for breakfast or coffee, something else?</p> <p>This happened to me recently, and I wasn't sure what to do. On the one hand, I was incredibly grateful and wanted to show my appreciation. On the other hand, if someone is helping you out of a good Samaritan impulse, then it feels a little rude to offer money? </p>
