As a former nanny, a photo book would be lovely. It would probably make me cry,but in a good way!

I think a photo book would be really nice! Also, you could give a gift (or gifts) to her children "from LO."

DS had had a part time nanny since he was 6 weeks old. We love her and she loves him, but a nanny is expensive so I recently enrolled him in daycare part time. I had to cut the nanny's hours to 1 day a week and luckily she found another job.

Daycare has a full time spot opening starting the middle of next month, so DS will no longer need a nanny. I'm excited for this chance for him to learn new things and for me to focus on work, but I'm sad over the nanny. I plan to give her notice this week, but she's like part if the family.

I will give her some severance, but I can't afford to be as generous as I'd like to be. DS also loves her 2 kids, so I was thinking maybe I could host an outing or an activity for the kids to do together. I could get real sappy and make her a photo book.

What have you done for a nanny to say goodbye? If you're a nanny, what kind of recognition makes you feel appreciated?
