I think people say it without thinking. Sure, I'm the one that's physically pregnant. I'm the one suffering from heartburn and who will eventually go through painful labour. I still feel that DH and I are equally in this together. I disagree that pregnancy and birth are "uniquely female" in the sense that men apparently have no part in it. I don't need to have all the "glory" for myself. It takes two to make and raise a child. We have only told a small handful of people that "we are expecting" but DH keeps saying " we are pregnant" it drives me crazy. I have corrected him passively but have not made a big deal about it. I know he wants to be involved. I told him the other day that if " we are pregnant " then he is a seahorse and I can pass the uterus off for a night. </p>
