Otherwise we risk me being on the road by myself and something hits or my LO being in the car with me during a tornado or something (the scariest). But yesterday I had my first "I HAVE to get to my kids moment." We were in a severe weather warning all afternoon and tornados were possible. Well I leave work at 4:30 and the sirens were just starting to go off, usually this means work makes us go into the shelter but I "hid" from the HR lady and snuck out when she couldn't see me. </p> <p>My daycare is literally a minute away and I choose to be with my kids during the tornado in their in home daycare provider's basement than stuck at work knowing they were scared. We stayed there a good hour and 1/2 before I felt comfortable to leave and have my girls in the car, I don't' regret the "stern talk" I got this morning for leaving during severe weather. </p>
