I've come to accept his new sleeping ways - especially now that I know he can roll back easily. Now he likes to mush himself all the way against one side of the crib, on his tummy. Sometimes his face is literally against the railings. If I see that, I'll move him a tiny bit, just because it looks so uncomfortable!

I remember the first time little one rolled onto her back in the crib. I was terrified! However after running in there to flip her over just to have her go back on her tummy in a second and half later I just had to make peace with the fact she was going to sleep that way if she wanted.

It still makes me nervous but she has been just fine with rolling back onto her back during the night as well.

Aaaa! B rolled over for the first time two days ago, and I *just*found him sleeping on his tummy. I am so scared to let him sleep like that.
I flipped him but think I just heard him flip back.

DS started rolling to his tummy around 4.5 months. It freaked me out at first. I watched him on the monitor to make sure he was still breathing. I didn't want to go in to flip him over and potentially ruin our sleep training. Now he rolls over every night. I joke that when he wakes in the morning, he self-imposed tummy time.

i used to roll charlie back and didn't sleep for a couple of nights because i was watching him on the monitor. but once they can roll they are definitely strong enough. they will figure it out pretty quickly, and babies sleep better on their tummies!

I totally embrace tummy sleep, because LO sleeps so much enter that way. I started putting her on her tummy for naps really early and was longing for the day she started rolling so she could tummy sleep at night.

DD started doing it around that time and it was a little scary at first. I kept going in to check to make sure that she wasn't face down in the mattress, but she never was. She ended up sleeping better once she could sleep on her stomach.

DS started doing this at 6 months and I embraced it. The first two nights were rough b/c he didn't want to be on his tummy so I'd roll him back over, but then he started embracing it, so I did too. He sleeps really well now.

This took so long for me to relax about and embrace. DS started rolling over at 6 weeks sort as a defense mechanism against his reflux pain. I had conflicting information from his doctors...one saying since he was young I should be flipping him over and the others saying because he could roll he was old enough to sleep on his tummy. It was stressful!! We ended up rolling back over for a few weeks, but he would quickly roll right back over into his tummy! Ultimately we had no choice but to accept the fact that he was a tummy sleeper.

LO is nearly 5 months old, and he's rolling like crazy. He knows how to roll from front to back, but often seems to "forget" and needs help rolling back over. Since we unswaddled him and put him in a sleep sack, he has started sleeping on his side, which I think is nice. For the past week or so, though, he'll wake up in the middle of the night and quietly play for a few minutes on his own, which usually involves rolling onto his tummy. He'll then fall asleep on his tummy.

I'm so scared about this! I asked my ped, who said if they're able to roll that way on their own, you don't need to flip them back over. Does this worry anyone else, or do I need to embrace the fact that my LO is sometimes a tummy sleeper? He spent half the night on his tummy last night! Eeek.
