@PastaAndPotato: I had a similar experience with a miscarriage at 10w and it was really hard for me to be excited and to announce this pregnancy (26w now). I was so anxious for everything to be okay and I felt like telling people would somehow jinx things. I felt a lot better once we did tell people though (around 14w), and even better still once we had our anatomy scan.

Congrats on your pregnancy! I had a m/c at 10 weeks too. I felt the same way as you. I think it is impossible to just get rid of the anxiety all at once, but as time goes on, you will become more and more comfortable. I did the same as you and announced to family first, then close friends, and I waited to announce at work until I was closer to 15 weeks. Try to just be kind to yourself and enjoy these days as best as you can. One statistic that helped comfort me was that a single m/c does not raise your chances of having another one. Btw, my rainbow baby is almost 9 months old now! Best of luck and hugs!

Congratulations!!

I was the same way. After having a missed miscarriage at 9 weeks, I was terrified when I got pregnant again. With each milestone, I got a little more comfortable (seeing heartbeat, passing point of miscarriage, etc.), but I was always a bit anxious. I did try to remind myself that worrying accomplished nothing and wouldn't change the outcome. I believe that every baby should be celebrated no matter how long they are with us, so i announced slowly starting around 8 weeks with family. I understand how hard it is, but you just kinda have to trust that everything will be okay. As worried as I was, it turned out fine for me. I'm nursing my 7 month old son right now :)

I totally understand, you're not crazy! I've only had early losses so I feel like I'm well past that, but it's still just weird. I'm 12 weeks tomorrow and have only told family and a few close friends. not thinking we will make a big announcement for the rest, just let it happen. I work 100% remotely now so don't have any specific timeline there.
I'd say just go with whatever feels comfortable to you! and congrats!!

Congratulations :) It was hard for me as well to accept that this pregnancy versus the pregnancy I had lost was different. You're not crazy and I totally felt the same way. We announced to people slowly. At first it was to close friends and family and then little by little we made it more official, especially after the nerve-racking 1st trimester ended. Do whatever is comfortable for you and once again, congrats!!

Congrats! I think making it past the mark of your previous loss is a big milestone and separates this pregnancy from the last. This baby deserves your excitement...and you deserve to be excited about it!

thank you, guys. it feels better just to know that i'm not crazy for feeling a little reluctant about the announcement. i think we're going to do family and close friends who don't know this weekend, and then take it from there at a little more of a "gentle" pace

@PastaAndPotato: I had a 7 week loss in March and I'm 8.5 weeks along now...so not quite the same but I'm feeling very hesitant about this pregnancy altogether. Announce when you're ready. Congratulations!

I couldn't bring myself to announce until 20 weeks, except to family in person after our CVS at 13 weeks. After a loss at 12 and 7 weeks, I was just too afraid to jinx it, as irrational as it was. Announce when you want--it doesn't have to be 12/13/14 weeks or whenever, ya know?

we're planning on announcing that we're pregnant on sunday, which is a little past our 12 week mark, and i'm finding myself strangely nervous and hesitant. we had a 10 week loss in december, and i think i'm struggling with accepting that this is a different pregnancy that is doing well, with no signs of issues at this point.

just wondering if anyone else has gone through this, and any advice to help shake the hesitation and embrace the excitement of it?
