I have thought about this, as well. I have been reading a TCM TTC book and it recommends that I take it easy during menstruation and during the later part of the cycle where there might be implantation.

So I guess I will bust a move Day 4-22.
I have still been walking and eating well all through the cycle though. Except for CD16. I always want to eat garbage on CD16.

I don't know why I am so conflicted!

If I am not KU and don't work out, I will wish I had started on a routine earlier to get healthy, and if I do workout and am not KU I will worry I caused it. I could be a professional worrier, lol.

Unfortunately TTC doesn't always make you rational!

@Crystal: I think weight lifting is perfectly fine. There are several women here who are avid crossfitters and never stopped. I did Bodypump for a while and I don't think it affecting anything (I was bored and had stopped BP by the time I got pregnant this time though).

If you think that you'll just stress about it, I wouldn't do anything. But there is absolutely zero data to show that weightlifting causes or increases the likelihood of a miscarriage. In fact, data shows a slight decrease, when correlated with women who lift weights and work out.

FWIW, I ran a 5k during my TWW. And I've only done that 3 times in my life. I found out I was pregnant about 8 days later.

I think it's about what you feel comfortable with. If you are worried about it, maybe hold off, and if you are pregnant, ask your OB about introducing the workouts. You don't want to have any regrets!

@Crystal: I totally know what you are talking about. Don't do anything that may cause you regret later. Just stick to the little stuff. I agree with @mfa_lady: . I don't think that small weights would cause any problem. And running usually wouldn't cause a problem, either.

Would you shy away from weight lifting?

Its a full body workout, and using my abs at all terrifies me.

I did run this morning for short periods of time and felt ok, but now I am wondering if I should even do that?

I know this is so dumb, but we had great timing this month, and I am afraid if I don't get KU I will wonder if I caused it somehow with the workouts.

Sounds silly, but what about power-walking with some small hand weights? It will get your heart rate up but is low-impact. I had a foot injury last year and it's amazing how much even the power-walking helped me stay in shape (especially when I added my crazy-lady arm weight movements...picture me walking around my neighborhood doing Tae-Bo arm motions while power-walking). Thinking of you, girl!

I totally understand how you feel, I felt the same way after 2 m/cs. During the TWW, I made sure not to do anything high impact (lots of jumping), and I took it easy during ab exercises. But other than that I kept going as normal.

I have been trying to get healthier and get in shape. In the past I have done a weight lifting routine, and I want to get back to that and running, but its been at least a year since I was doing either consistently.

I am currently in the TWW and am terrified to start a new routine, especially one that has weightlifting.

Part of this is probably because I started spotting (signaling my MC) the first day I worked out after I found out I was pregnant.

I know getting in shape will help me with having an easier pregnancy and a healthy baby, but I am just so scared of having another MC or preventing implantation from happening.

I don't know what I am looking for- support, sympathy, or a kick in the butt... I just needed to get my feelings out there.
