My mom taught preschool for years. She often used kool aid, and also liked lavender, orange, and peppermint.

Yes, all the time! And the moms at preschool do too, so I've seen lots of combos! For st. Patricks day I did green with peppermint oil, I have done lavender, lemon, orange, and vanilla before as well (vanilla extract works) you can use any child safe essential oil or food grade extract. I think almond/cherry (same extract!), lime, and I've seen kool-aid or other packaged drink mixes also used for all sorts of fruity scents! Other fun sensory things to mix in are glitter or a fun texture like used coffee grounds.

Has anyone ever made homemade scented play dough for their LO's? I did a trial batch the other week and put in some essential oils. I want to try it out with some other scents, maybe something from the baking aisle. If you've done this, what did you use?
