I had Kaiser for one year and didn't like it because I found it to be too impersonal. I have such a busy schedule that I need a flexible doctor's office. I'm holding onto an HMO insurance with all my might as I'm still able to find great doctors within my network. My one friend, though, has such a difficult schedule that she pays for a concierge doctor who is more or less on-call for her. It would LOVE to do that if I could afford it and felt I needed it. ETA: I'm pretty old school and don't like to do things electronically. I often refuse to accept email communications in my own work for various reasons. It's awesome. I'm always playing phone tag when I call my dr. I'm in a cubical at work so it's not so cool scheduling IUIs and bloodwork while at my desk. I have to go to the 'phone booth' to get some privacy. I know there's this movement to stop relying on email and texts, but it's so much easier to email, chat or use an website when scheduling appointments. Sometimes talking to someone is not always productive. Like do I really want to be put on hold? Come on... (I do completely understand that they are busy.) Would love to hear from people who work in Dr's offices to see if they like it.
