@BabyBoecksMom: yes she just hates the car seat! She starts crying before I even buckle her in so I know that it's not the straps digging into her or anything. Although I have adjusted the straps every which way possible. Funny because her older sis loved the car seat and car rides. This one just screams in the car. I think she has fallen asleep only once in the car. Aw man, I can't believe your LO still doesn't like the car, but at least she has learned how to sleep after the crying. :-(

@Andrea: I feel your pain! The screaming is so stressful :-( DD still hates the car at 15 months. Once she was around 5 or 6 months, she finally started to fall asleep in the car after screaming for 5 min. Hopefully it turns around soon for you.

@mrsmate: that is a good idea. We are new to the school, though, so I have to make some friends first!

I'm sorry your LO won't fall asleep in the car. Can your preschooler catch a ride with another family for a few months? By then your baby's schedule may change. And maybe you can handle pickup if that works for your schedule now.

Oh the screaming ......

If my 4 month old wakes up early (before 7 am), then her 1st nap is long over due by the time we get back from dropping off her sister at preschool (around 9 am). She's always screaming her face off and I end up feeding her when we get home even though I know she's not necessarily hungry. It's too bad that she never falls asleep in the car seat or else she could start her nap earlier that way.

There isn't enough time for a nap before school drop off. I could maybe let her sleep for 10-15 minutes but that is kind of pointless?

All the screaming stresses me out! Has anyone else dealt with this?
