@Mamaof2: so, the field trip is Tuesday and it's supposed to be sunny and 81. Which means HOT. Definitely using your frozen sponge idea - heading to dollar store during lunch!

I asked her and she said she wanted (provolone) circle cheese, goldfish and a juice pouch. Nice try, kid. 😜

@regberadaisy: Bummer! In that case I would probably pack a sun butter sandwich with a banana, tomatoes, and veggie chips.

I just pack leftovers because I'm lazy. :silly:

We have a PackIt freezable lunch bag that keeps the food cold for the school day. I was surprised to find that most kids in his classroom have one too.

@PinkElephant: cute idea! I can use paper muffin liners In a takeout container. Might be nice for hotter months too to have a lighter meal.

@Mamaof2: this is such a creative idea! We freeze & use those Sassy teethers that come in a pack as lunch ice packs, but I love this disposable option!

We sometimes pack bento style minus the bento - peperroni, cheese cubes, cut fruit, baby carrots, some kind of treats(goldfish, gummies)

I cant stand a hot bagged lunch (who knows if my kids care) ha!

Anyway - buy cheap sponges (dollarstore) and freeze one over night and put it in a Ziploc bag - it will keep her juice and pouch cool - and it can be thrown away.

I do deli meat, yogurt (freeze), water, chips, fruit

What do you like to pack for disposable field trip lunches?

Last time I did a ham/cheese sandwich, banana, juice pouch and a fruit pouch. She has a field trip at the end of the month and I'll probably do something similar.
