They are so much nicer, so I'm glad you are getting them. If they ask for Crayola crayons in an 8 pack, I get those. It's easier because the kids don't have a personal workspace, they sit at a table, and the supplies were kept in a bin on the table. If they ask for a red folder, I buy a red folder, even though it's just for my kid to use and he would probably select a Monster Truck one if he had to choose. When I worked, I always led school supply drives at work to fund classes in need. I adopted a teacher friend's class a few times. I just got DD1's supply list for kindergarten, and I kind of want to find out before I buy...there's not much I could really personalize from the list, but I might, say, splash out for the Ticonderoga pencils painted neon colors if I know they'll be exclusively for DD's use - but I wouldn't start that drama if they're going into a supply pool which means only about 3/4 of her class would get to have a fun colored pencil. I'm assuming things like markers/pencils/folders I buy will go to my kid, but things like a six pack of glue sticks might go into group supplies, which is fine by me!</p> <p>I am a huge school supply nerd; sooooo excited to shop with DD! </p>
