I bought a box of Valentine's granola bars that my son can give out to his classmates. I really thought about skipping it because he's not quite two, but he is OBSESSED with granola bars ("snacks") right now, so it felt cute and easy.

@Andrea: agreed. We went store bought. She was pumped for Paw Patrol. I love the Pinterest ones, but those are for the parents. The younger kids don't understand the little puns.

Semi-homemade? We do an edible valentine. LO2 (15 mo) is doing applesauce pouches with a tag that says "you're awesome sauce, valentine". LO1 (4.5y) is doing the Annie's organic bunny snacks with a tag that says "Some "bunny" thinks you are special. Happy Valentine's Day". The older will write her name on each and help me assemble.

Handmade but by hand made, I have her some old sheets of scrapbook paper and she folded it in half. Wrote the classmates name on the front and drew a picture inside. So nothing special with glue or hearts or anything. She just really liked drawing so this week its been a good quiet activity for her to do.

My kids aren't in school/daycare, but I bought ones from the store to send to some of their little friends. It probably sounds silly, but I was excited to let them pick out their own box of cheap little cards. That's how we always did it when we were kids and I loved going through every option at the store with my siblings (even if I picked Lisa Frank every year). I want to be a crafty Pinterest mom, but honestly, I'm more of a "get it from Target" mom, haha. A picked out Frozen cards and B picked out these really weird, creepy wild animals with big eyes. He was so darn excited about those weird animal cards. He talked about the zebras all the way through the store.

Haha, we do storebought. I've done the 99cent packs from the drugstore, I've made them from scratch and I've also done the "custom" route from a place like Minted.

My son doesn't care at all what it is, as long as he has something to hand out. I totally get the point behind doing them from scratch, but I don't appreciate people telling me how to spend my free time, if that makes sense.
