It probably sounds silly, but I was excited to let them pick out their own box of cheap little cards. That's how we always did it when we were kids and I loved going through every option at the store with my siblings (even if I picked Lisa Frank every year). I want to be a crafty Pinterest mom, but honestly, I'm more of a "get it from Target" mom, haha. A picked out Frozen cards and B picked out these really weird, creepy wild animals with big eyes. He was so darn excited about those weird animal cards.
