@KT326: yeah the chiro alluded to me having an easier delivery if she can kind of straighten things out/ loosen up. My son was about 20 pushes tho too (but he was "helped along" with Cervadil)
@MrsADS: haha I know, knowing this is temporary (had same issue with DS1 just not as early/ severe) makes it not so bad. If it were my new normal for life, it'd suck!
@lioneyes: I stalked. I'm so glad everything worked out. Girls tend to do a little better if they come a little early from what I heard? Glad you got to 35 weeks :-)

@pachamama so glad chiro helped! It’s so hard during pregnancy bc you cannot crack your back or hips and that always makes me feel better. So, my baby is here- she arrived at 35 weeks on the dot and is doing great!

@pachamama: yay! I'm glad it helped! I also think the more you go, the more comfortable you will get.

I also swear it helped me with my delivery. DS2 was out in like 4 pushes compared to 3 hours of pushing (and forceps) with my first.

@KT326: the chiro was great. I was nervous and wouldn't let her do the full thingy but she really well versed in preggos and looosened me right up. She took one look at my pelvis and was like you're a crooked mess, my god look how overdeveloped your glure is!! and straightened me right out. Definitely feels MUCH better. I think running and lifting are out for the next 2 (well 4) months but that's ok.

@KT326: I 2nd k-tape! I used it a couple times in my pregnancy, but had to quit because it wasn't worth taking off every week for ultrasounds. BUT it helped sooo much with the discomfort in my hips and back. You can buy k-tape online, and look up youtube videos and make hubs help tape you up :)

@pachamama: I hope the chiro helps! With my first, turning over in bed was horrible. Going to the chiro helped a lot with my second, but turning in bed still hurt (just not as bad). Definitely use your arms like @mediagirl: said.

Also, another benefit with the chiro - she was able to put k-tape on my back and rib cage when the baby had his foot up in my ribs! I can't believe the difference it made.

@pachamama: I was reading up on it last night and it seems like the best bet is use your arms as much as possible (lift yourself up on your arms and don't use your abs) and then when getting in and out of cars, do it with both legs together instead of separating them. Please let me know if the chiro helps!!

@mediagirl: rolling over is bad. definitely turtle on its back territory here. So much worse than with #1 and I'm 5 weeks behind you. I am going to the chiro on Monday which normally I believe is hokey but I am desperate.

It is so bad. I'm 33 weeks. I can't roll over in bed without yelping. I most bought a belt the other day but didn't and now wish I had. I think I need to talk to my OB about it Thursday because I'm really miserable. I can't even get into the car without pain. I had it last time but not nearly this bad.

Sorry you’re dealing with this. It was my biggest issue in pregnancy and if it makes you feel better it disappeared 100% when the baby came, but in the meantime, UGH.
What helped- foam rolling my hips/back; trying to limit climbing stairs; wearing my clogs for cooking/longer periods of standing; sleeping on my left side with one pillow between my knees and one shoved into my back.

@KT326: yeah I made an appointment with a chiropractor for Monday who specializes in pregnancy!
I also am substituting a swim workout for running, and am doing the stretches posted above 😊
I am extraordinarily uncomfortable just doing everyday things (I even told my toddler mommy can't pick him up anymore- he seemed ok with it) and hope some of this helps.

@pachamama: I went to a chiro that specializes in women's health and she had a special table that had a spot for my belly to go. I highly recommend seeing one. It can be scary at first but they will definitely make sure you are relaxed before they do anything! Mine would use a heating pad prior to any adjustments. It felt amazing!

@pachamama: just relax is the main part (easier said than done). The Weber method for your round ligaments (any pregnancy specialty chiro will use this or something like it) is AMAZING!

@MamaBear87: I actually notices last night how much better it felt with a pillow. I am now sleeping with 3 and a body pillow.
@KT326: @MrsMom: I have a support band, will definitely try!!
@Kaohinani: these are awesome. Thanks so much
@Littlebit7: ugh sounds like I have a touch of that pubis disorder ..."The most common symptom is intense pain in your pelvic area, described by some as ‘feeling as though your pelvis is tearing apart’ yup ackkkkk

I think a lot of the problem is i have secondary scoliosis...my right leg is three quarters of an inch shorter than the left, and my whole pelvis and spine are really thrown off. It seems to be really exacerbated by pregnancy and therefore pinches the right sciatic nerve

@fmmtk: I bought mine from the chiropractor, I don't know the brand though! It was pretty sturdy, similar to this one:

https://www.motherhood.com/maternity-support-belt/006-92200-000-001.html

It was hot though. I don't think I would have been able to wear it during the summer. Luckily I had a December baby.

These are all stretches that I have had my pregnant clients use to relieve sciatica during pregnancy. (I used them as well during both of my pregnancies and found stretching to be highly beneficial ... Alternating heat and cool packs as well may help.) Also, using support in the front (such as a belly band or maternity lumbar support) may reduce the pressure on your back and sciatic nerve. 🙂

I used a support belt when I knew I would be walking a lot or very active. I also saw a chiropractor every week starting at around 25 weeks. I had horrible pelvic pain with my first, the chiro kept things adjusted and with the help of the support belt I was pretty much pain free for my second.

Woof, I hit 28 weeks and my sciatic/ periformis and groin pain is BAD. I overdid it at home painting and re-doing a dresser and for 4 days now it almost feels like someone is trying to split my groin open- its like my groin bones (is there such thing??) ache tremendously.
I plan on starting back up swimming. I hate yoga and yoga squats seems to inflame it more. I use a heat pad but have a 35lb toddler who wants to be help sometimes (that REALLY flares it up). I haven't even gained a ton and have 3 months to go yikes!
I am very active and want to keep running... I will talk to my midwife but have you found something that eases the pinching and aching of the butt/ groin area due to sciatica?
