Thanks ladies!

I have not had surgery (my curve was less than 30 degrees) and the main portion of my curve is higher up, so I am hoping I will still be a candidate for an epidural!

I know someone with scoliosis and she had both babies with no complications. Had an epidural both times too!

I had no issues with pregnancy or delivery. A resident tried to do my epidural first and had a really difficult time and it did not take. The attending came in and did it in less than five minutes perfectly. So my suggestion would be to have a more experienced anesthesiologist place your epidural. I have not had surgery, but I know a woman who had rods placed and was told she could not get an epidural. So that's something to look into if you've had surgery.

Yep scoliosis and other back injuries. I asked at my hospital visit and they had the anesthesiologist come and feel my spine and they said not to worry. I had an epidural and zero complications from it.

My midwife group is asking for my charts from my surgery for the anesthesiologist in the event that I get an epidural or need a c-section. Not sure if you had surgery or not but yeah, they want to know if my rods will be where a spinal block would need to go etc.,

No complications during delivery. He did have to try a few times for the epidural but I hadn't told him I had scoliosis....definitely going to mention that next time

Does anyone else have scoliosis? Did it cause any complications during delivery? How about with the epidural?
