I use a blanket my SIL crocheted for him, so it has big holes in it, and I lay him down in the middle of his crib and then tuck the blanket over top of him and between the matress and sides of the crib. I failed to mention that I did get one, which has been great, because the original problem was his little limbs getting stuck through the slats, which was cute but not helpful in the sleep department...but it's not really soft enough for the head smash.... The tricky part is that he is now SCOOTING in his crib, while asleep, and waking himself when he bumps into the crib slats....UGH! I don't want to use a bumper, because they freak me out a bit with the SIDS risk. Any ideas to keep him from scooting so much? Or to help him sleep through it - besides CIO? </p>
