Luckily(?), in our case, it is usually only a single scream right after she doesn't get her way. After the one scream, she usually moves on to other ways of carrying on -- typically throwing herself on the floor and crying. We've been talking a lot lately about feelings, and she now understands that she screams when she is sad or mad. We tell her how there are other ways to express those feelings, and she says she understands. DS started this LAST YEAR, and still does it. I have constant tinnitus now, especially when I'm laying down, trying to go to sleep. We've tried ignoring it, distractions, everything. I used to just take him to time out where he can scream. It helped him calm down if I just ignored him. With my 2 y.o., I'll put him in time out and he'll call for me THE ENTIRE TIME... THE ENTIRE TIME! Did I say ENTIRE TIME?! And it is usually when she doesn't get her way. But its not a cute, aww look at her scream. It is seriously an ear piercing, think you are hurting her scream. We have tried everything from talking to her calmly, raising our voices, ignoring her, etc. but she doesn't stop. Anyone have any tips that worked? I know I can't have the only screecher! </p>
