@StbHisMrs: Definitely do the Edgewater if you don't mind spending the money. As others have mentioned, Hotel Andra is very nice, its more of a boutique hotel. Last time I stayed there they had Kiehl's shampoo/soaps in the bathroom which I think is a nice touch. I don't think any of the rooms have water views though, its about a 10 min walk to the Pike Place Market/views of the Puget Sound.

There aren't many hotels actually on the water in downtown Seattle, but there are plenty with views. Another fun option would be the Inn at the Market. http://www.innatthemarket.com

I lived in Seattle for many years, so wall me if I can help with any other recommendations!

I recommend the Fairmont Olympic. I stay there for work when I travel and the location is perfect for doing stuff downtown.

We tend to stay at the Sheraton or one of the downtown Hyatts - all are super close to Pikes Place but not on the water. For work I've stayed at the Four Seasons on the water but it's very expensive.

@hilsy85: My brother stayed at Hotel Andra when he visited Seattle. I saw his room and it was really nice. As others have mentioned, it's in a great location near restaurants and shopping.

@Mrs. Microscope: I agree!! Edge water was $265 a night, Pan Pacific is $300, and the Inn is less but booked when we want to go. I'm going to check a few more places!

@hilsy85: hotel andra is great! They have loaner umbrellas for the rain!

The westin and the Sheraton are also good walkable downtown options, as is the w. I am a starwood gold member so I tend to stay where I get points and perks!

I feel like the edgewater is over priced and not that nice inside, and actually a far walk from the rest of downtown. It's a hike up the stairs to the market! Inn at the market. Is nice but spendy!

@hilsy85: great foodie location. Right near Serious Pie and there's a great in house restaurant as well. It's hip but not "too cool". I stay there whenever I need a place downtown. Otherwise we stay with friends.

I like the Marriott on Alaskan Way as a bonus El Gaucho is within walking distance, so is Pikes Place. The other Marriott in town has a rooftop pool if I remember correctly.

@StbHisMrs: No need to be sorry! The Inn at The Market is nice too. Pretty much anything in that area is pricey, but pretty nice. The Pan Pacific is a little more of a walk, but its nice and has good prices (or at least did a few years ago :) )

Do you mean on the waterfront? Nobody here really ever refers to a "wharf" :) The Edgewater Hotel is really nice. If you just want downtown, the Pan Pacific has good rates online.
