If you want cheap eats, check out Paseo for Caribbean sandwiches. Specifically the pulled pork. There's one in Fremont and one in Ballard.

I also second Skillet and Staple & Fancy. Both are great. Ethan Stowell has a few other places but S&F is our favorite. Most places in Ballard (on Ballard Ave/Market St) are pretty good, though. And if you can get to Cafe Besalu on 24th Ave when it's open, it's soo good!

In Pike Place Market, La Panier has amazing French pastries. There's also a restaurant called Matt's in the Market that's really good.

On Capitol Hill, a couple of our favorite places are Oddfellows and Quinn's; Poppy is also really tasty but is on the pricier side. A few new places have opened since we lived in that area so I'm not super up-to-date.

We went to the Tamarind Tree for Vietnamese food when we were there for our honeymoon....REALLY good!!

Everything @sarah.clarisse suggested is a great idea. Also all restaurants by Tom Douglas and Ethan Stowell. Molly Moons and Blackbird for ice cream, and Trophy Cupcakes are awesome (I have one waiting for me right now :) ). Spend some time in Ballard, tons of great restaurants over there. La Carta de Oaxaca is awesome in particular (and for more desserts, check out Hot Cakes). I could go on and on...

Skillet diner - great breakfast and I'm sure other meals too.

Mighty-O donut - vegan donuts but you,d never know. Amazing!!!!

Delancey - the best pizza I've ever had ever anywhere. It's thin crust house made ingredients simple and delicious.

Volunteer park cafe - small simple menu great for lunch or dinner.

Have fun. Seattle is one of my favorite cities to visit!

Ahh that's too bad because deli-meat-wrapped-sushi with a side of under-cooked-beef and tequila shots are a Seattle specialty!

I would recommend seafood.

This is one of my fave restaurants:
http://www.schwartzbros.com/daniels-broiler/daniels-lake-union/
I just went for our anniversary last week and ordered the Dungeness Crab stuffed Prawns. So yummy! The Lake Union location is right on the lake and sometimes you'll see seaplanes landing or taking off.

This one is also good but it can be a bit far to drive to:
http://saltys.com/seattle/

These are also good options, especially if someone else is picking up the tab ;-)
http://www.elliottsoysterhouse.com/menus/
http://www.elgaucho.com/El-Gaucho-Menus-Seattle.html

I'm going to Seattle for work next week and need some recommendations of places to eat for dinner. Work is covering the bill, but it shouldn't be crazy expensive, just doesn't have to be cheap either.

I'll be staying downtown, but have a rental car. Also, i'm pregnant, so things like deli-meat-wrapped-sushi with a side of under-cooked-beef and tequila shots are out ;)
