DD1 has eczema (and probably mild asthma) but no food allergies. DD2 is eight months and broke out in a rash and hives after her first exposure to peanuts (also has eczema). We'll be seeing an allergist to follow up.

DD has a peanut allergy (and she had symptoms of having allergies bc she had eczema as a young infant), but so far no signs of anything from DS (no eczema, asthma...), though I haven't attempted to give him nuts yet either.

Although I don't have experience with one child without food allergies, both of my kids showed signs of their food allergies around 2.5 to 3 months old. With DS1 he had really bad eczema and mucus-y green stool with the occasional streaks of blood. Once I eliminated foods in my diet, I saw improvement in his skin and stool. With DS2 he had the same signs as well as excessive spit up and reoccurring bloody stool.

I'm still waiting for #2 to arrive, but my neighbor has 3 kids (all same gender) and only the middle one has allergies (MANY food allergies). My cousin also has three kids (2 girls and the youngest is a boy) and only the youngest (the boy) has allergies (and they're severe). I think it's kinda a crapshoot, but I don't really know from personal experience.

I have several food allergies, after completing shots for 7 years they have lessened greatly.

This was a main concern when we got pregnant with DS 3, but knock on wood he's doing great. not a reaction in sight.

As I'm now pregnant with #2, I am concerned about allergies yet again..

Curious, anyone have experience with a kiddo with no allergies and one with? When did they appear?
