I work a rotation at work with 2/5 days and 3/5 nights. It's kind of weird and if I work any OT I end up either staying until 7 or starting my shift at 7, those days are tough/hectic with 2 kids at home! My kids are really understanding alreasy (at 2 and 4) about going to daycare while Mommy sleeps etc though.

wondering if there are any other second shifters out there on the boards, going back to work after baby is down every night? i have always been a workaholic and have worked fairly crazy hours. now that DS is here (and almost 1!), it has, not at all surprisingly, gotten a lot harder. when i first returned from leave, everything was actually a lot better than i expected, at first. i'm not sure what's been so hard lately--major ramp-up in pressure at work, DS is at the CUTEST age, it's winter, the election, etc.--but it has gotten really hard. i'm sick for what feels like the 20th time this winter (actual count: 4), at work late missing DS (and DH!), and feeling like i'm not doing my job the way i want to. really just looking for commiseration or pro tips from others in the same boat.

not spending time on boards and just getting my work done would admittedly probably be a good place to start but you can save that suggestion
