It's far more popular than I'd like, which we knew going in (though it's going down, not up, last I checked), but it was just the right name, so I can't regret it.</p> <p>I'll be honest though, I do regret not sticking to my plan last time to not commit to a name until the baby was born. I LOVE our first choice of names, but because we gave it to a baby that didn't survive, we never get to use it outside of some really depressing conversations. But it's still the name we liked best. </p> <p>Also I think part of it is that we changed our minds and went back to it at the last minute so I wonder if we didn't think it through or something. My all-time favorite name was Ava, and DH vetoed it for being too popular. Then I wanted Evelyn, but that name was moving up the ranks quickly, so DH vetoed that too. We settled on LO's name, which was &gt;100 on the SS list when she was born. And of course now she is one of two with the same name in her toddler class, with no Avas or Evelyns in sight (in fact, we don't know a single one). That sort of bugs me a little but I love her name and it suits her.</p> <p>Btw, Grace is a gorgeous name. She has the perfect name for her, perfect combo of known but not popular, easy to pronounce and spell, I love it. </p> <p>Our second is 6 weeks old and while I love the name, i do worry it's too popular and she's destined to always be Grace H. I knew it was popular when we named her but we just didn't like any others more. But I've met or heard at least 3- in 6 weeks! </p> <p>But ultimately I care more that we love the name than how popular it is! </p>
