I didn't gain anything from week 16-36. Doc wasn't concerned as my belly was always measuring fine. She would've done a growth ultrasound at 37 weeks but I gained a pound or something that week. Baby was born at 39+5 at 7lbs 6oz

I think that's pretty normal. With both of my pregnancies I didn't really put on more than 5 lbs until around 20 weeks. End of second and third is when my body seems to pack it on.

I started this pregnancy up 10 pounds heavier than normal. I'm 26 weeks and I've gained a total of 8 pounds. I think that's only like 3 for this trimester so far. My doctor says I'm doing great! I gained 15 with my first.

@pinkcupcake: With both of my pregnancies, I lost 7ish lbs in the first trimester (wasn't sick ever, just lost weight for some reason), and only started gaining back late in the second trimester. My doctor wasn't concerned, and I had a big belly. I ended up making up for it though, I gained about 35 lbs each time!

anyone experience very slow / sporadic / little weight gain during second tri? Is it something worth being concerned about?

I'm at 20 weeks and am about 4-5 lbs over pre-pregnancy weight (but I started off about 10 lbs heavier than my ideal weight). I gained about a pound or two during first tri, and in the 6 weeks since second tri has started, have only gained another 2-3 lbs or so.

I have an appt coming up next week so will bring it up to my OB but I was steadily gaining a LB a week with my first since week 13.
