Yes, I hate messes, too, but I think it is a necessary evil for their development! But we realized this is probably not great for his development, and since we feed him because of our own cleanliness concerns and not concerns about him (he's a great eater) we started letting him feed himself at almost every meal this past weekend. </p> <p>Some example meals:<br /> Plain pasta with olive oil with cut-up fish sticks sprinkled on top<br /> Slices of a small cheese pizza cut into 8ths<br /> Pancakes, eggs, and ham at a local diner</p> <p>He did AMAZEBALLS (I normally hate that word but it really applies here) with all of them!!! In fact, he COMPLETELY cleaned his plate at all three of the above listed meals. At the diner we had to order more food because he kept asking for more eggs and more ham! And with the pasta/fishstick meal, he picked every little bit of food off of his plate with his fingers and when he was finished he said "all done!" I WAS SO PROUD.</p> <p>Ok, now I'm just bragging. </p>
