Home. Even if you gave Motrin and sent LO, it would wear off in 4ish hours. Usually fever free for 24 hours is the rule and bc Sunday morning she had fever, Monday morning is not 24 hour of fever free.

This just happened to us last weekend and I did keep her home on Monday

I'd plan to keep her home. In the past I'd check the temp in the morning and if it was below 99 I'd send DS. But last time I did that his fever spiked in the afternoon (which is common) and I had to rush to leave work and take him to the ped.

I'd keep her home, since a 102 fever is usually a virus. Sorry, mama!! I know how hard sick days are. The other kiddos and parents at daycare will be grateful you kept her home though.

I'd keep her at home. We have the 24 hour rule at daycare. So even if she's borderline ok in the morning, if the fever creeps up in the middle of the day and you have to come get her, that's 2 days out sick for sure! (This happened to us once...)

I feel like we just can't win and we haven't even hit the peak of cold and flu season yet. I'll prob call ped in am and just take her in since I'll keep her home. Could be ear infection. Ugh.

Keep at home. The Motrin is just masking the fever. Our daycare policy is that kids be fever/diarrhea free for 24 hours.

Yes, keep home. Anything above 101 is considered a fever and you have to be fever free for 24 hours to go back. I think this is a pretty standard rule of thumb for daycare?

ETA: I've had to take a day or two off since August for the kids being sick and I just started a new job in July. So, I definitely understand but it's the right thing to do, keeping her home.

Keep her home. If the fever was borderline (100 ish) I'd wait till morning to decide but 102 is pretty high. Plus if she's sick at daycare then you'd probably have to pick up early anyway and also stay home the next day (if your daycare has the 24hr rule) so better let her rest up tomorrow and hopefully be back on Tuesday!

I would keep her home. Fever alone is enough for me to keep LO home. Fever + yucky diapers I would keep home for sure.

My LOs never have fevers in the morning even if they are really sick so the 24 hour fever rule works for us.

Hope she gets better soon.

I've already had to take 3 days off since August due to one of my kids being sick.

DD woke up this morning with a 102.1 fever. Gave Motrin. Acting fine but not really eating much. Went to church. Felt warm around 130. Gave more Motrin but has also had two really yucky diapers.

Wait it out and send to school? Keep home?

Obvs if it gets worse tonight, I'll keep for sure. At this point I'm just planning...
