My 3 year old loves any kind of homemade play dough. I know it's kind of messy and some parents shy away from it. However, now that she's older, DD understands it stays at the kitchen table, which makes the cleanup easy, for me. And it occupies her for so long!

We've done ice cream dough, and let her scoop it up and push them into real sugar cones. She adds sprinkles and red pom-pom "cherries."

Dinosaur swamp dough was a hit; played for an hour and half at the table with her plastic dinos.

Scented dough is fun (we did apple pie scent, last fall) and can be used to play bakery with rolling pins and cookie cutters.

Slime is easy to make and kids love this gross crap. We threw it into a big tupperware and she made her sea animal toys "swim" in it.

We've frozen small toys and had her chisel away at the ice with a little (real) hammer she got at a craft event at OSH.

We use watercolors, a good deal. I feel it's a pretty versatile medium and can be used for a lot of different, fun projects.

I'm looking for some sensory type activities for my preschooler. We've done rice bins/oatmeal bins and pasta bins with other items in it, but now that she's getting older she's getting bored with it faster. I need some fresh ideas for sensory activities for her!
