We have had at the toilet and one at the sink. It's just easier to not have to move it. Now of course it's another issue where sometimes my toddler doesn't want to use one or the other, or she wants to move it herself, or she wants to pick it up and move it someplace else, like into the kitchen... So to that point, having them pick it up as little as possible might discourage the idea of moving it outside of the bathroom.

We only have one stool in one bathroom (out of 3). Basically, my youngest can only go to the toilet in one bathroom. :silly: We seem to have unusually high sinks so the little one still can't wash her hands by herself, even with the stool. In any case, our bathrooms are not huge and I think we would be tripping over two stools.

I have a little looster around the base of the toilet in the hall bath. It helps my son to have something to bear down on when he needs to.

Then we have a folding step stool at the sink. He likes to look at himself in the mirror.

We have one at toilet and sink.

DD gets up in the night on her own to pee and when she was moving the one stool back and forth to reach it was noisy. DS will wake at anything and this is now even more handy to have two when she is peeing and he's brushing his teeth! Way easier on Momma :)

I vote that it's overkill. We use them at the sink but my girls have never needed one for the toilet.

Stools in each room. For the ones where it doesn't really fit, we have a fold up stool like....

If you have the space I would do two. We have a teeny tiny bathroom so we keep our stool folded up and he just gets it out when he needs it (we only need it for the sink now).

We only have one stool and we keep it at the sink. When Xander first potty trained, he used a small potty that we kept in the bathroom. When he moved to using the toilet, we would help him up and down from it. Now he can get up and down on his own without a stool and just needs the stool for the sink.

If you have the space... do it. It's so much easier when they can step up and be independent to care for themselves.

We can't keep a stool at the sink since the door wouldn't be able to open. But if we had the space I would keep one at both the sink and toilet. Maybe it's overkill but it makes life easier, so who cares. I would prefer to have little hands touching as few things as possible on the way to be washed.

For those of you with toddlers/preschoolers.....do you have two stools in the bathroom your child uses (one at the sink, one at the toilet), or does the child just move the stool around from place to place?

In the girls' bathroom (upstairs), I plan to put a stool at each sink and another one at the toilet, since the toilet/tub are behind a closed door from the dressing area. I'm debating what to do in the guest bathroom (downstairs) - it's a large, full bath with shower, toilet, and sink, so there's plenty of room for two stools...I just can't decide if it's overkill.
