DH went out on Monday night. LO freaked out about it, tears and everything. He's going out tomorrow night, so I expect the same. We haven't gone out much solo in forever, so I'm thinking that's where it's stemming from. LO's a little over 2.5 years old.

Unfortunately no advice but we're going through something very similar, also at 2.5. No issues with day care, or even a babysitter over the weekend, thankfully, but if I'm home, DS is suddenly freaking if he doesn't have me right next to him at all times. This is a kid who's been going downstairs to the playroom by himself since his 2nd birthday and now suddenly can't deal with me being on the other side of the kitchen. I'm definitely finding 2.5 to be an "interesting" age!

My LO is 2.5 and very recently she has developed a bit of separation anxiety. The other day I went upstairs to fold laundry and 5-10 minutes later she just started crying and yelling for me. DH was so confused but once she heard me she was fine. Tonight I was telling her the plan for tomorrow and I mentioned she was going to stay with my mom (she LOVES it there) she started crying. I told her it would just be for 2 hours until daddy comes to get her. She was still so sad. I feel terrible because I have to leave her there is no option to take her with.

I haven't had to deal with this yet, did anyone else go through this with their LO around this age? How long did it last? How did you help them feel less anxious about being away from you?
