My DD is younger than your LO, she is 10 months. She had the same anxiety towards her grandparents (they were so sad). We ended up spending 2 weekends with them and I asked them not to touch her and let her get use to the surroundings and she will go to you if you ignore her. It totally worked and she can stay with them and have her hold her without a fit.

We also have a new nanny. we had to get her use to her so I stayed for a couple of hours and when she wasnt looking and was interacting with the nanny I left the room and when she would cry we would play a game of peekaboo. By the 3rd day she was totally fine with our nanny taking her to another room to look out the kitchen window and I sneak out. I do the same when I drop her off at Daycare. she totally stops crying after a couple of minutes

Its super hard. I hope your LO gets used to get grandparents, but keep having her visit and get use to them.

I think it's just normal for that age, but I've also noticed that my nieces/nephews who attend daycare didn't really go through that phaze as bad as my nieces who stayed home with their Mom. Regardless they all grew out of it and are perfectly social/happy around other family members now!

My LO was the same way around that age but she doesn't mind strangers (well grandparents and aunts/uncles) anymore! She is 19 months.

LO is almost 16 months. We have been visiting our families for about 1.5 weeks, and things are fine as long as one parent is with the grandparents. If i am alone with LO (with my in-laws) and i have to use the bathroom, she will just FLIP OUT. I left her for a couple of hours the other night to go out for a dinner (DH was not home) and except for the hour she spent eating, she was a crying mess.

If she and i are the only ones in the house, she is fine. But when my mom is home, she will just freak out. I dont know if it's because she thinks i am going to leave her at any time? I have to work a couple of days this week and wanted my mom to look after her (DH is on a short trip while we are visiting) but LO is making this a difficult situation!

Any tips on how i can get her to warm up to the grandparents? She is okay with them after a while, but usually towards the end of the day. This is really making me rethink visits here!!
