When we were hosting at our house over Christmas I put the juices in the fridge until right before the guests arrived. I pulled out more than enough for the number of kids and set them on the counter and then if I noticed they were getting low, took more out. But honestly I don't think kids care if they're cold or room temperature.

@mediagirl: Yes, the adult drinks (mimosas and coffee) will be set out so that easy to see. But I guess I will just put a cooler of the juice boxes on the back porch. We are hoping the kids will be playing outside so hopefully this will help get them outside as well.

@T.H.O.U.: when everyone arrives, tell them where the food is. "The appetizers are on the island, the adult drinks are in the red cooler and the kid drinks are in the white cooler" or something like that. Then just offer the drinks as you talk to people. They'll figure it out.

If the party is short, I would just put them in the fridge overnight and take out just before the party starts. Otherwise I would put them on ice or maybe use ice packs.

We have a plug-in cooler (no ice!) and usually tape the box kids on top of it so people know what's inside.

I would just have them in the fridge before hand so that they are pre chilled.

So, since everyone is saying serve kids drinks cold, how exactly do you do it? A cooler with ice and drinks just thrown in there?

Here are my concerns about not wanting to put them on ice:
1) Kids wont see the juice in a cooler versus having them lined up nicely on a table. Also, there will be 4 flavors (although maybe I will hold back the grape flavor if its not white grape).
2) I dont want a cooler of ice leaking inside and as kids pull out drinks, I dont want a wet drink dripping ever where.
3) Left over juice boxes once they are on ice dont keep (the cardboard goes bad). So I have a lot of wasted juice boxes.

I'd put them on ice. Also, I'd try to get something like apple or white grape juice to help prevent accidental stains. The red juice I got for our Christmas gathering was a bad idea...

We are hosting an open house party and I think rather than make a punch, I am going going to get the Honest Juice boxes from Costco for the kids.

Question - Do those need to be on ice or could they be set out on a table?
