It'll be fine. I closed on this house 10 days before my scheduled. 2 months is more than enough time for them to find something else. They'll be annoyed but will be ok.

Meh, such is life. It's business and they wouldn't commit to the lease...so...*shrug* I wouldn't feel bad. You need somewhere to live, too!

Just because they have two months notice doesn't mean they have to move in exactly two months, right? They could elect (and I would think they would) to move sooner, so that the move is before the birth.

I would feel bad too, but you really did give them an out (the year lease), which they didn't agree to.

And you are pregnant too, so you probably can't do much more for them. Sorry for the stress. let us know how it works out.

So my husband lost his job & we are relocating back to the UK in two weeks time. The current tenants in our home have not had an agreed lease since January but we are still obliged to give 2 months notice. We offered to let them stay in our home if the signed a 12 months lease, this would give us the security to rent somewhere without the possibility of having to move again in 6 months time (I am 7 months pregnant). They have taken 4 days to come back & say they will take the lease at a reduced rate which we declined & then they said that they require further time to consider as they are booked in for a c section 2 1/2 weeks prior to the move out date (2 months today). We then decided to withdraw the 12 month lease offer & issued two months notice. We felt like we couldn't delay our decision any longer as it has caused significant delays to our relocation/shipping arrangements already. I feel HORRIBLE for kicking this woman with a newborn. The guilt is killing me! What would you have done?
