(in combination with pretty much every other old wive's tale for inducing labor).</p> <p>When I was about 38 wks, hubby had put me on unofficial bedrest til he got through a really important meeting at work...as soon as he called me to say it was over, I went for a REALLY long walk, guzzled two cups of red raspberry leaf tea, and that night, went into labor within a half hour of *ahem* the above named activity that evening. Large amounts of women in the study had inductions, and the average pregnancy lasted 39 weeks.<br /> Natural induction methods like sex only work if the baby is already ready to come out - so having sex at 35-38 weeks may make no difference at all.</p> <p>It's actually the semen more than anything that works to soften the cervix - and when you have a hospital induction using prostoglandins?
