The doctors fear that uterine spasms will interfere with implantation or the pregnancy so the no sex rule is part of a lot of ivf protocols. That being said, once you are at the ivf stage, you don't want anything, however tiny, to mess with your chances. I'm curious if it actually effects implantation. I have heard some couples wait up to 6 weeks before dtd again if they get a BFP. </p>
