We went on tons of long walks, had sex the night before labor and I had my membranes stripped the morning before labor started... At 38 weeks I was 3cm dilated, 80%effaced and I had my membranes stripped. That week I walked a TON, did a lot of exercise ball bouncing, was drinking RRL tea. At 38+5 we DTD and my water broke an hour later! A few weeks/days before you go into labor it falls out. I'm not going to lie, it is pretty gross. Some people pass it in small amounts over several days. Mine came out in one glorious chunk.
