@Freckles: my waffle maker is a Mickey Mouse one from the mid 90s, haha, so It didn't get quite the same crisp texture other people do with the same recipe, so it's hard to say, but the flavor was yummy anyway!

@jaypegs: @Freckles: Yes! They are delish. And definitely different than your basic waffle. We have a Belgian waffle iron and they a little more custardy, but still sooooo good!

I've made the morning of waffle and it is so delicious light and crispy. I've made it for a number of brunches and it's always a hit.
http://orangette.blogspot.ca/2010/05/you-deserve-waffle.html

I haven't made the yeasted waffle but everyone gives it rave reviews. I may try it out this weekend!

Inviting some college buddies for brunch Sunday. Thinking of keeping it easy with quiche (I can make Saturday night), make your own Belgian waffles w/fresh fruit & whipped cream and a fruit salad.

We'll have coffee and juice.

Any other suggestion for quick, easy and cheap? I usually make super healthy ones for LO so I don't have a basic recipe on reserve. ;)

And a good basic waffle batter recipe?
