Hmmm LO was in the NICU and the nurses were dragging their feet to get my cathader out so I could go see her. When they finally did it they said I needed to wait 2 hours in my room...as soon as they left I made my husband put me in a wheelchair and we escaped to the NICU level so I could see my baby. I had only got to hold her like 5 minutes the night before so I was dying to see her. My nurse tracked me down but knew better than to say anything and just brought me cookies and my medicine and left me be. :)

Are they supposed to be good memories??

I remember distinctly attempting to nurse Xander while my brother was over and explaining to my brother that the little d-bag was hungry and then saying the F-word over and over as he latched on poorly. It went something like "F---, F---, that hurts you little F---er!"

I'm an awesome mom.

When I'd wake her up to feed her and she'd do this huge full body stretch while hanging from my hands. Ee I miss those tiny stretches!

I'm kind of still in the early days I guess. But our first night with her in the hospital, I was too scared for both DH and I to be sleeping with her in the room, so I watched her a lot. She was in the bassinet and kept lifting her legs straight in the air making her little body into an L shape, and she used to do that a lot in my belly, making it look like a giant box. It was so cool connecting the baby in my belly to the baby that was in front of me.

I remember distinctly he was four days old. I was holding him while sitting in my rocking chair that DH had moved into our bedroom for me. My mom was sitting with us and had made us a delicious meal. I started crying and said, "I just love him so much. I had no idea I would love him like this, I didn't expect it at all. I can't believe how strong of a feeling it is. I love him!"

I was so overpowered by the ocean of love I felt for my son! I'm sure the post Partum hormones made the moment a little more dramatic too ;)

I remember when she was just newly born and I was laying there in the hospital completely bewildered! I didn't expect her to look the way she did, not in a bad way, but it just took me awhile to finally put a face to my little kicker.

In the hospital our first night we were too nervous to sleep, but so tired. DH and I took shifts watching both babies while the other napped for like 20 min at a time. I remember cradling one in each arm in the hospital bed in the wee hours of the morning and hardly believing this was really my life! :)

One of my favourite memories is from the first night of A's life, I knew everyone wanted me to get some sleep but I was just too excited and lay staring at this perfect little person in my arms for the whole entire night  I think I slept for maybe half an hour? Whenever I think of her first few weeks I remember how amazing she felt/looked/was. I still feel like that, it's true when they say you forget the tiredness, worries etc.

This one stood out in my mind this week for some reason.

I remember during maternity leave the week my mom was in Toronto visiting my aunt. I would pack LO up into her stroller and we would take a stroll to the library bc it was the only thing within walking distance. She was old enough to be interested so I would take her out of the stroller and try to push the stroller around a small cramped library. Some days she would fall asleep on the way home. <3
