I am so glad this time it wasn't traumatic for anyone. :)<br /> Lorelei wandered off from where we were reading on the sofa, so I sat with my cup of tea for a moment. It was nice sitting and knowing she wasn't destroying anything! She grabbed a doll, flung it on the ground, hard, and said, "Aw, sweetie-- are you okay? Here, let me kiss your head." Which was really sweet. Except for the part where SHE CAUSED THE INJURY! And then she did it again. Many times. Then she laid the baby tenderly on the floor, so I thought we were moving on to a less abusive part of the pretending. "You are baby Annabelle," she crooned. "You are sweet." And then, grabbing one of Ellie's American Girl ski poles, "This is a perfect stick for poking you in the eye, like this." Uh? </p> <p>Ellie had to pick clothes for a President's Day celebration at school tomorrow-- she chose a really fun outfit with lots of stripes and colors. She was so proud! When she came home from school she even asked to do some homework (second day in a row she's done that!) and I was floored enough that I think I said, "Okay," in a funny voice. "It's okay, mom," she said. "You're not going crazy. I just want to finish it so I can play more with you and Lorelei." Followed by my stunned silence. She can play with us anyway. Usually we do her homework on the weekend.
