My experience was somewhat similar to @Navy-Mommy where I had the 24 hour urine test 4 times at least and I never ended up with protein in my urine or platelet issues. It was just considered Pregnancy Induced Hypertension.

1. Around 32 or 33 weeks I think.
2 My symptoms were extreme edema (including facial edema), blurred vision, I felt sick, and elevated blood pressure. I was also gaining massive amounts of weight at the end even though I wasn't eating.
3. I had a scheduled c-section. LO was breech so it was going to be scheduled anyway, it just ended up being moved up. I delivered LO at 37 weeks, 1 day and LO was in perfect health. She also weighed 8lbs 12oz!!
4. After the first 24 hour urine test came back negative my doctor's office recommended pulling me out of work, which I was ok with but asked for a few days to wrap things up. They had no problem with this but upped my weekly visits to twice a week. The very next doctor's visit my blood pressure was spiked again and they admitted me to the hospital for monitoring and another 24 hour urine test. I didn't develop pre-e, so they sent me home. At this point work was done for me. I had bi-weekly NST, blood pressure checks, and ultrasounds to check my fluid levels. Almost every visit I would end up getting sent to the hospital for further monitoring because my blood pressure would spike. At 36 weeks I hit 165/95 and they almost took the baby via c-section but with rest my blood pressure did drop, so they decided to send me home if I agreed to going into the office every other day to be checked. Normally they would admit you to the hospital for monitoring until they got me to 37 weeks but because the doctors in the practice knew me so well, and knew I wouldn't mess around, they felt comfortable having me go home and gave me strict instructions on what I could do. They wanted to get me to 37 weeks and then take LO. 37 weeks was July 4th, so we had our LO on the 5th. :)

@petunia354: Thanks! My provider hasn't opted for NT scans yet but I am going in twice a week now. My boss has also been really great about letting me work from home so that I can relax. Just today in the office I had another blurry vision session, so being at home is so much better!

@lovelyplum: Thank you mama!

@chelsearose: I hope I don't have to take that! Bluck!

@msmini: What a long ordeal. So glad that it all ended well, but the emergency c-section had to have you scared!

@babybruins: This is good to know! I would've never thought flu symptoms could be a sign of pre-e. I'll pay extra attention to something like that now. Wow!

1. 33 weeks 6 days
2. I thought I had food poisoning. Throwing up every hour and stomach cramping.
3. I had a c-section the day I was diagnosed.
4. I really thought I had food poisoning. I went in bc my sister (a nurse) said if I continued to throw up and got dehydrated, I could go into labor so just to be safe I went in. My BP was elevated and wouldn't come down, I had protein in my urine and my bloodwork was not good. I wasn't dilated at all so I had a c-section. My cousin went undiagnosed for a month (thought she had the flu) so please be aware of how you are feeling and go in if you don't feel right.

I had PIH diagnosed in week 27 of my pregnancy, and did 4 times per day monitoring of my BP. I started in BP meds at 30 weeks, and was on partial bed rest by 34 weeks (allowed up and about for up to 30 mins at a time if I rested for at least 30 minutes afterwards). I did 3 24 hour urine tests for protein, and never had more than trace protein. I has bi-weekly NSTs and weekly ultrasounds from that point until 38 weeks, when umbilical cord flows were have found to have reversed due to my blood pressure, and I has an attempted induction, then emergency c-section due to fetal distress. My milk came in 4 days pp, so in the normal time period (3-5 days is considered normal).

@petunia354: I agree! They had it on for 24 hours after he was born and it is kinda scary how out of it I was during that time. I didn't Ben remember telling my mom that my son was born a couple hours after the conversation. My husband had to do everything for our baby.

@marionberry: Thnks. I should add that it took a long time for my milk to be in (day 6), but I wasn't able to attend nursing as much as I should have because of the magnesium making it too difficult to even sit up. I hope that you're able to avoid all of the complications that I had. I'm lucky we made it to 39 weeks exactly.

I'm so sorry!! Pre E sucks. I was at high risk for my whole pregnancy because I had a kidney transplant as a child and already had high BP because of that So my situation was a bit different.
1. At what week was your pre-e diagnosed? I was borderline at 23 weeks, I was hospitalized for 5 days and released on bed rest. I made it to 34 weeks exactly because I was hospitalized again
2 What were your symptoms? High BP, very high protein levels in my urine
3. When did you deliver and via what method (vaginal, c-section)? 34 weeks, emergency C-section under general anesthesia (baby was in distress, no time for an epidural)
4. Anything else you want to share? Take it as easy as you can!! I was borderline with pre-e at 23 weeks but luckily my doctors allowed me to go home on strict bed rest and I was able to cook my little boy for 11 more weeks and am SO thankful for it. Drinks tons of water, eat well and lay on your left side as much as possible!! Pre-e diagnosis is scary, but just know that the doctors are doing the best for you and your baby!! Also, you will pirobably need extra monitoring. After 23 weeks I was going to the doctor 1 per week, and then at 25 weeks I think I started going 2x week and had NST's at every visit plus I had to do 24 hour urine samples every week or 2. Very annoying but I had to remind myself that's what was best for baby and me. The upside was that I got more ultrasounds and saw my baby on a regular basis!!

@Navy_Mommy: I'm hoping what was the case for you will be the case for me as I haven't had a protein issue yet. Glad to hear no issues breast feeding. That is really important to me.

@chelsearose: how traumatic! I'm so glad you're both ok!

@lemondrop; @shutterbug: @kentuckygirl: I'm going to be really religious about working from home whenever I can. Today I'll leave after meetings that finish about noon. I'll be checking my bp regularly to see if there are times I need to just lay down in my office too. I appreciate you all looking out for me. Means a lot!

Hope everything goes ok for you, I know it's been quite a journey for you :) The biggest thing is to take it as easy as you can, nothing (including work!) is more important than bringing this little one home safely.

1. No official diagnosis, but I had weekly appointments from 24-28 weeks. Blood work and 24 hour urine test were all fine. Was told to take it easy in the afternoons when my bp tended to spike, was allowed to work from home for most of my last 3 weeks of work since it was trending upwards again. Also had very high bp at delivery and for a little while after, hospitalization for an extra day.
2. High bp, headaches, swelling, carpal tunnel.
3. Vaginal, 39 weeks, 1 day, water broke on it's own to start labor, no problems other than extra bp monitoring.
4. Was told they will be keeping an extra close eye on my bp this time around, same ob but at a new office. Milk came in after 4 days.

I was never diagnosed with pre-eclampsia, but ended up eclamptic. My bp was gradually getting higher in my third trimester. I was sent for weekly monitoring starting at 35 weeks. I did the 24 hour urine test, which was well below the cutoff and all my blood tests were fine. I went to get induced one night when my bp was 160-170/100 after resting and listening to hypnobabies. I was 38+5. They probably should have given me a cesarean then, but I wanted a vaginal delivery. I had a two day induction, pushed a large sunny-side up baby for two hours before giving up. I had a seizure on the operating table after my spinal was in, so they baby got out fast, but his APGARs were 4-8 (I believe). I was on tons of meds (magnesium sucks) in the hospital and I had to remain on bp meds for a few months after.

I only ever had high bp, which was partially "white coat syndrome." Only minor swelling in my feet, but I wore my wedding rings until I left for my induction.

I had all the symptoms (high blood pressure, severe headaches, vision changes, swelling) EXCEPT protein in my urine (I had to do 24 hour urine collections 4 times!!!

My blood pressure got as high as 165/105 and I had to just take it easy and lay on my left side. That all started around 34 weeks and I went into labor naturally at 39 weeks.

It took a month for my blood pressure to go back to normal and they just diagnosed it as gestational hypertension.

At 36 weeks my bp was high and wouldn't come down during an NST that they sent me to the hospital for a 24 hour urine collection. At that point they found protein.
2 What were your symptoms? High BP but nothing else
3. When did you deliver and via what method (vaginal, c-section)? I delivered vaginally, via induction at 36 and 5
4. Anything else you want to share? I tried the diet above, meds, you name it, nothing worked. I also went on bed rest for 2 weeks as well

1. At what week was your pre-e diagnosed? PIH starting at 35 weeks, Pre-E diagnosed officially at delivery
2 What were your symptoms? Severe water retention, puffiness, high blood pressure, severe fatigue, malaise
3. When did you deliver and via what method (vaginal, c-section)? NSVD (normal spontaneous vaginal delivery) at 40 weeks and 1 day.
4. Anything else you want to share? She was a wee bit small at 6 lbs 4 oz and then lost more than 10% of her body weight to 5 lbs 7 oz. I needed a little extra monitoring. they were going to keep me an extra day, but I insisted on going home (otherwise known as a full-on melt down). Milk didn't come in for 4 days.

@rachiecakes: I hope they're able to stretch mine out like yours! Glad it all turned out pretty well.

@dillonlion: I'm sorry you had a provider who was a crummy communicator. Thankfully for me, my DH tends to ask lots of questions so hopefully if I'm quiet or my doctor doesn't explain, we'll still find out.

@marionberry: I'm not really sure! My doctor sucked as far as bedside manner goes, so he didn't bother explaining anything about why it might have happened. He was great in the moment so that's good lol but I won't be seeing him if I ever have another baby.

1. At what week was your pre-e diagnosed? PIH at 37 weeks, hospitalized & monitored, released with 24 urine test, ordered strict bedrest, bi-weekly NSTs and BPP ultrasounds until induced at 40w1d

2 What were your symptoms? High BP, protein in urine, low blood platelets, extreme swelling (pitting edema) and pregnancy-induced carpal tunnel.

3. When did you deliver and via what method (vaginal, c-section)? 40w, induced with Cervidil, water broke naturally, labor began immediately after, vaginal delivery.

4. Anything else you want to share? I never felt it coming - aside from the uncomfortable swelling, I never felt dizzy at all. The only thing I felt was the swelling. Felt like my skin was going to burst.

@DillonLion: You poor thing! That sounds rough. I'm happy to hear that after 2 days you were feeling better. Did they think your hemorrhage was related to the pre-e conditions?
