@septca: Thank you for sharing. We just acknowledged that we've spent a year stressing about TTC and not focusing enough on our marriage. It's time to focus on all of the blessings in our life and put TTC on the back burner for a little bit. I really like your suggestions of enjoying the things that you can do because you're not pregnant yet. :)

1. The cycle # you got your BFP. #13

2. Your/Your partner's diagnosis (pcos, dor, low count, etc.) - Endometriosis that caused blockages in both tubes. I received a diagnosis before DH went in for testing.

3. Any medications you took on your BFP cycle (clomid, femara, injectibles, etc) - No.

4. Any procedures that were performed on your BFP cycle (IUI, IVF, FET, etc) - I had laparscopic surgery to diagnosis and clear my endometriosis. "Super-charged" HSG during surgery cleared one of my tubes. Got pregnant first possible cycle O'ing from the cleared tube (2 cycles later).

5. Doctors you saw (OB-GYN, RE, Urologist, etc) - Pelvic pain specialist Gyn.

6. Any advice or words of encouragement you want to share with those of still trying? Cry when you need to, tell your friends (it will feel good and you'll be surprised how many people are in similar situations), build a community here (my WB "team" got me through TTC!), and make plans each cycle to do something you wouldn't be able to do while pregnant or with a baby - drink an extra glass of wine, go out for sushi or oysters, take a long weekend away to reconnect, travel!, go to yoga after work... I found that having something - big or small - to look forward to each month helped me through my darkest days. And remember:

Hi all! First time poster here. :) Cautiously dipping my toes into this thread. I first signed up for Hellobee last year, when I got pregnant (naturally) for the first time. Unfortunately that one was lost at 8.5 weeks, a missed miscarriage. I also have had one chemical pregnancy after that.

1. Cycle #: Not sure, but we started the TTC process around Jan 2012.
2. Me: Unexplained. Hubby: "Possible" male factor. Numbers across the board were just ok. Not great, not terrible.
3. Letrozole, then trigger shot. Also herbs from my acupuncture doc.
4. IUI #1
5. RE, acupuncture
6. I'm not sure if I qualify to give anyone advice. I'm still a nervous, anxious wreck because I"m only 9 weeks along and I am terrified of miscarriage again. I try to be positive but it's hard! I'm also have a really hard time with nausea so although I'm thrilled to be pregnant, I'm feeling pretty bad lately. In any case, I guess I would say try not to compare yourself to other fertile women. Everyone's body is different, and sometimes it takes time to figure out the best option for yourself.

1. So many I don't even remember...We had been TTC for 2.5 yrs

2. Unexplained...My eggs sucked. We found out that my eggs were severely immature even though they looked like they were mature (size, hormone levels, etc.). 2 different IVF clinics told me there was no hope whatsoever and that we should just move on to donor eggs, but we made a last ditch effort and went to CCRM in Colorado and they got me pregnant.

3. Menopur, trigger, Gonal-F (all the IVF meds)

4. 3 IUIs and 4 IVFs...we got our BFP on our 4th and final IVF.

5. We saw everyone and went to three different IVF clinics.

6. Don't lose patience. I know it's really hard and it's a waiting game, but hang in there. Also, be your own advocate! Read and read some more and educate yourself as much as you can on what options are out there. As much as you rely on the experts, also know that you need to be as knowledgeable as you can.

1. The cycle # you got your BFP. #6

2. Your/Your partner's diagnosis (pcos, dor, low count, etc.) - PCOS w/ anovulatory cycles (well, no cycles really but when I did I didn't ovulate) AND a blockage for DH (this was finally able to be fixed by surgery)

3. Any medications you took on your BFP cycle (clomid, femara, injectibles, etc) - Menopur and a trigger shot did the trick on my BFP cycle.

4. Any procedures that were performed on your BFP cycle (IUI, IVF, FET, etc) - IUI finally did the trick for me

5. Doctors you saw (OB-GYN, RE, Urologist, etc) - My GYN gave me the Femara and Clomid. She then referred me to my RE, who referred us to a urologist when DH's SA came back with zero sperm.

6. Any advice or words of encouragement you want to share with those of still trying? - Know that you will get your baby. It may not be when or how or anything else you wanted or expected it to be. But, when you get him/her, you will know that the two (or three or four!) of you were meant to be.

Also, have patience and trust your body. Once I gave up being mad at my body and was able to just trust that it was going to happen at some point, I found peace in it and was able to do what I needed to do to get my baby.

I had no idea I hadn't responded to this thread before.

1. The cycle # you got your BFP.
I'm not really sure how to count. Chronologically, I had about 9 months between when I went off BC and when I got pregnant with our sticky baby. But the first few months I never ovulated and ended up needing to see an RE. I got PG on the first cycle (CP) and then again on the 4th.

2. Your/Your partner's diagnosis (pcos, dor, low count, etc.)
Me - PCOS and pre-diabetic. DH - nothing.

3. Any medications you took on your BFP cycle (clomid, femara, injectibles, etc)
On my BFP cycle I took 7mg of Femara and varying doses of Gonal-F, then a trigger shot.

4. Any procedures that were performed on your BFP cycle (IUI, IVF, FET, etc)
Nope, just timed intercourse

5. Doctors you saw (OB-GYN, RE, Urologist, etc)
My GYN wouldn't do anything for me except run blood work for my really long cycles to confirm no ovulation, and the prescribe Provera to induce a period. I had to see an RE in order to actually get anywhere.

6. Any advice or words of encouragement you want to share with those of still trying?
1 - It always feels hopeless when you're in the thick of it. It's hard to have the stamina to go through failure over and over again and to keep doing it. But try to stick with it as long as you're able.

2 - It can be hard to hear this, but enjoy being NOT pregnant while you can! At 36 weeks I am incredibly miserable. Everything I eat gives me heartburn or drives my blood sugar through the roof, the baby's hiccups are starting to drive me insane, and I'm getting more and more worn down from sleep issues. And I know the sleep thing is going to be an issue for quite some time to come, which is scary and depressing. Don't get me wrong, I am SO excited and grateful. But I also had no idea how hard it was going to be just to get through pregnancy. I will never take a decent night's sleep for granted again. Or the freedom to eat a cupcake without giving it a 2nd thought.

Nothing will take the place of getting pregnant, but while you can, do all the stuff you won't be able to do - travel, eat sushi/chocolate/whatever, drink wine, and sleep!

1. The cycle # you got your BFP. I think it was our 15th or 16th cycle
2. Your/Your partner's diagnosis (pcos, dor, low count, etc.) No real diagnosis, I could never get a positive OPK, but was ovulating. Maybe weak ovulation as I have heard others say.
3. Any medications you took on your BFP cycle (clomid, femara, injectibles, etc) We did two rounds of clomid. We had planned to only do two cycle and then move onto RE. The week I was supposed to see the RE I got my BFP
4. Any procedures that were performed on your BFP cycle (IUI, IVF, FET, etc) none
5. Doctors you saw (OB-GYN, RE, Urologist, etc)OB-GYN
6. Any advice or words of encouragement you want to share with those of still trying? For me the hardest part was waiting an entire year to get any answers. You just start to feel really hopeless. You keep doing the same thing and getting the same results. When I was able to finally start to get some answers and help I was pretty vigilant in my quest to figure out why we hadn't been getting pregnant. If you don't want to have to wait a whole year to get answer don't. I wish I had been a bit more pushy with my doctor. I'm 29 weeks pregnant now and when we try for number 2 I am not going to wait too long before seeking treatment if needed.

I couldn't even count, but it was FET #3

2. Your/Your partner's diagnosis (pcos, dor, low count, etc.)
I have PCOS, thin lining, and unexplained infertility issues

3. Any medications you took on your BFP cycle (clomid, femara, injectibles, etc)
Our embryos were frozen, but my GC took Estradial Valerate and Progesterone before and after the transfer.

4. Any procedures that were performed on your BFP cycle (IUI, IVF, FET, etc)
FET with Gestational Carrier

5. Doctors you saw (OB-GYN, RE, Urologist, etc)
Have hope. Things might not happen the way you plan. Just know that one way or another, you'll have a baby, whether naturally, through medicated cycles, gestational carriers, or adoption. There is always an option.

1. The cycle # you got your BFP.
not sure. we tried for 6 months before seeing an RE, started IVF 3 months later and got pregnant with our take home baby 7 months after starting treatments
2. Your/Your partner's diagnosis (pcos, dor, low count, etc.)
MFI and low ovarian reserve
3. Any medications you took on your BFP cycle (clomid, femara, injectibles, etc)
too many to remember- BCP, gonal F, trigger shot, PIO injections
5. Doctors you saw (OB-GYN, RE, Urologist, etc)
All of the above! ended up going to two different RE's. Got pregnant on IVF #1 (miscarriage) and IVF#2 (ectopic) and finally with our take home baby on FET #1 with our second RE
6. Any advice or words of encouragement you want to share with those of still trying?
Try to stay positive but don't beat yourself up when you are upset. And try to make the best of the time with your partner- go on spontaneous dates, take trips and try not to let trying to have a baby take over your life. I would also say do what you need to do to take care of yourself, even if that means skipping your BFF's baby shower (I did that). I also found a therapist who specializes in fertility issues and loss and she was really helpful. Also feel free to PM me, IF can be isolating.

20+ I'm not sure of the exact cycle. We tried for 3+ years before having a successful pregnancy. I had 3 miscarriages and an ectopic pregnancy within that time frame.

2. Your/Your partner's diagnosis (pcos, dor, low count, etc.)
Unexplained IF. All of our tests came back ok.

3. Any medications you took on your BFP cycle (clomid, femara, injectibles, etc)
Follistim + hcG trigger shot.

4. Any procedures that were performed on your BFP cycle (IUI, IVF, FET, etc)
IUI (4th round)

5. Doctors you saw (OB-GYN, RE, Urologist, etc)
OB, then RE after third miscarriage.

1. The cycle # you got your BFP.
Cycle 20 for sticky baby. Had one MC.

2. Your/Your partner's diagnosis (pcos, dor, low count, etc.)
Unexplained secondary IF. DH has good sperm, my AMH level is high. BUT I may not ovulate on my own...after some extra-long/irregular cycles my OB tested my progesterone levels and they were borderline.

3. Any medications you took on your BFP cycle (clomid, femara, injectibles, etc)
Gonal-F + HCG trigger shot. Also had 6 cycles of clomid (BFP 1st cycle that ended in MC, the rest failed).

4. Any procedures that were performed on your BFP cycle (IUI, IVF, FET, etc)
IUI (2nd round)

5. Doctors you saw (OB-GYN, RE, Urologist, etc)
OB, then RE after failed Clomid cycles.

6. Any advice or words of encouragement you want to share with those of still trying?
I feel funny giving anybody IF advice bc I feel like we had it pretty easy. With our diagnosis, age, insurance coverage, access to several excellent clinics, I never doubted it would happen for us, maybe not this cycle, maybe not next cycle, but one day. We count ourselves very, very lucky. So if I HAD to give advice, it's in that vein...be grateful for the things that you DO have in your life, stay positive while allowing yourself to have bad days, and never give up on your journey to becoming a parent.

3. Any medications you took on your BFP cycle (clomid, femara, injectibles, etc) - No meds for me, but my DH was prescribed Clomid to raise testosterone.

4. Any procedures that were performed on your BFP cycle (IUI, IVF, FET, etc) - Was about to do IVF once I got my #24 cycle period

5. Doctors you saw (OB-GYN, RE, Urologist, etc) -OB-GYN, RE, And Urologist.

6. Any advice or words of encouragement you want to share with those of still trying?

For two months when we decided our path was IVF, we stopped making it our job ttc. Before that we did everything, from Temp Charting, using pre seed and cup, to fertility blend. Then we looked into finding out what was "wrong" with us.

Those two months, when we had our plans laid out to proceed with IVF, were the most relaxed we had been in a long while. It was a relief not to look at a calendar and have "on demand" baby making (baby making wasn't as fun when it was a chore). I was told by my RE to call once I had my period to start the process of IVF...... and low and behold we got pregnant on our own.

Our baby is due in mid January. Sticky and positive thoughts go your way!!!!

1. The cycle # you got your BFP.- 2 years after we started trying
2. Your/Your partner's diagnosis (pcos, dor, low count, etc.)- unexplained infertility
3. Any medications you took on your BFP cycle (clomid, femara, injectibles, etc) - Femera, progesterone in oil, acupuncture
4. Any procedures that were performed on your BFP cycle (IUI, IVF, FET, etc)- FET after a failed IVF
5. Doctors you saw (OB-GYN, RE, Urologist, etc)- RE
6. Any advice or words of encouragement you want to share with those of still trying- virtually all couples who want children end up with them, just not always in the way they intended in the first place. It is ridiculously hard to accept that sometimes, but as someone else said, after a while this hell hole that you're in right now will be a blip on your radar. Success vibes to all!

@tarabonno: yes, come say hi over there!

I don't think I'm out of the woods enough to be considered a success story, but I will share. My diagnosis is secondary IF with multiple early losses (2). I get pregnant rather easily, but staying so is considerably more difficult. I am currently 6+2 with baby #3, and this is further than I've ever been before! Hopefully, the progesterone, baby aspirin, and good effects from my recent HSG do the trick!

@alie: good luck! Hoping for your success story soon!

1. The cycle # you got your BFP.- No clue, we were trying two years, so 20-24ish? cycles. We tried for a year, did four or five IUI's with Clomid, one failed IVF, then one winning IVF!!!
2. Your/Your partner's diagnosis (pcos, dor, low count, etc.)- unknown. slightly low on both our parts but no "dealbreaker" so to speak
3. Any medications you took on your BFP cycle (clomid, femara, injectibles, etc) -All of the above
4. Any procedures that were performed on your BFP cycle (IUI, IVF, FET, etc) -IVF #2
5. Doctors you saw (OB-GYN, RE, Urologist, etc)-RE
6. Any advice or words of encouragement you want to share with those of still trying? I would have a good cry, then a glass of wine or two. We still planned trips & fun things and tried not to let the ART process put our life on hold too much. If IVF #2 hadn't worked, we were actually going to take a break for a couple of months. Also, I kept reading success stories online ;).
