We keep separate calendars but invite each other to anything that needs attention/is shared. We still invite each other to events we are both going to just so we are reminded a bit better than just verbally or via texting. It is pretty easy and handy. We set it up on the computer first. I don't know how to do it from the phone. I think how it works is that is the default email on our phones so when we put stuff in the calendar it saves to that account and both phones. I like that it is color coded by category.
