We both use iCal through the iPhone. We keep separate calendars but invite each other to anything that needs attention/is shared. It works pretty well and I like that I need to "accept" the invite as I am more likely to make a mental note of it as opposed to if my husband just placed something on the calendar.

@ShootingStar: @Mamaof2: you can set up a shared calender using your original accounts, that way you don't have to invite. That's what we do!

We use google calendar and each have separate calendars that are shared with each other. We still invite each other to events we are both going to just so we are reminded a bit better than just verbally or via texting. It is pretty easy and handy. We set it up on the computer first. I don't know how to do it from the phone. I could never find the "share calendar" feature while on my phone.

We have a joint Gmail account for house and kid related stuff. I think how it works is that is the default email on our phones so when we put stuff in the calendar it saves to that account and both phones. We both have androids so I don't know how it works on the iPhone.

We have a family email address (that is used for bills, stuff related to the kids, etc.) and that is the calendar that everything is put into.
That calendar is the one that our phones are linked to, so we can both add when necessary. I like that it is color coded by category. We have a category for each member of the family along with the pets and a bunch of other catergories:)

@Mamaof2: I guess you could probably set up a new google account that both of you could log into. I kind of like having my own though.

@ShootingStar: DH mentioned he thought we would have to invite each other to each event which I guess would be fine but would rather just lay it all out there!

@Pancakes: @nana87: thanks I will check those out too!

we both use iCal. we used to use google but switched at some point. ical and google sometimes have glitches when you uses both, so we made the switch.

I have multiple calendars within ical, and most are shared with dh but not all--like, I have one that I call "workload" where I can plan out when I'm working on what if I have multiple deadlines, etc, and he def doesn't need to see that much detail ;) dh and I each have our own separate calendars, and then there's a family calendar too--so like, he sees when I have appointments/need him to watch lo, but that's a different color from events that we're going to as a family

We have the Cozi app. You can share calendars and things like grocery lists. However, I am good at putting things in my paper planner and horrible at updating the Cozi calendar :silly:

DH and I each have our own Google calendars. And we invite each other to things when necessary. So I put in things like my hair appointments, OB appointments, etc. But I only invite him when he needs/wants to come, like to the ultrasounds. If he makes plans with his family he puts it in his calendar and then invites me to it.

We use Google and just add both our accounts and have different colors. I think it's "easier" to set up on a desk top first but I'm pretty sure you can do it on your phone too.

I have a paper calendar I keep at work - I guess I could carry it with me though....

We have a paper calendar at home too....

Life has gotten super busy all of a sudden and I think DH and I need a shared calendar on our phones that we can constantly add to or delete events.

What do you use? Google?

Is it easy to set-up? It sounds like you have to do it on a desktop/laptop and then you can use the app on your phone - is that right?
