@Danizaur: sounds just like what I had. Sharp, shooting pains in the groin. Totally unexpected. Definitely call your OB if you're ever worried about them, though. Mine got lots of worried, "I'm having pain here and here, but not so much here..." calls. :)

ETA: Lightning vagina. Good one. :)

I just call it lightning vagina! I am only 23 weeks, so I know it's not the baby kicking me, but that's just what we say. My midwife said it's RLP ... Sometimes, they feel like they are in my butt, too, which is always awesome. ;)

sounds like RLP to me! it would always happen to me while I was walking though, and i would always squeal a little because it would always take me by surprise!

I had this around the same time! My chiropractor said it could be RLP or the pubic bone shifting/getting pulled by the ligaments and tendons around the pelvis. It helps to put pressure on the ligaments on each side of the pubic bone, it hurts, but it releases the tension and helps out that pain a lot!!

@MamaMoose: Makes sense! I was expecting it on my sides of my belly...not in my crotch! Lol

Oh pregnancy.

@Danizaur: when you said they are really quick that's what made me think its RLP. Nothing to worry about but it hurts like a mother for those two seconds!

@MamaMoose: Just googled it and that sounds about right! The way the doctor described it made it sound different so this isn't what I was expecting. Lol

@MamaMoose: Really? I would think it would be in a different place for round ligament pain. I get them mostly when I'm sitting or laying down. Hmm.

I'm not really concerned but I would like to know what the heck this is!

For the last week I keep having sharp stabbing pains in my crotch right above my pubic bone. They don't really hurt and they are really quick. At first I thought it was the baby moving, because I've been feeling him more and more this past week too, but its always in the same spot and too low for it to be the baby I think.

I've heard of lightning crotch but that is definitely when the baby is kicking you in the crotch later in pregnancy. I'm just 16 weeks 2 days.

Google says its Braxton hicks but I don't think so. I don't have any other symptoms besides this little stab. Anyone else experienced this?
