Mine has just started this at 8 weeks!! (to be fair, she was grumpy in my arms as well at 4 weeks!!). Im dealing with it (badly!) by not showering, barely eating, doing household chores one handed while holding her and reminding myself that this phase will pass like all the other phases that went before. Its tough!

Honestly it just takes time. My LO was like that until probably 3 months? It's so hard and exhausting, but you'll get through it :)

Honestly, I couldn't put my DD down at all the first 3 months, and rarely after that until she was closer to 6 months. They go from an environment of being held all the time in the womb, and the first 3 months are kind of a 4th trimester as they adjust to life in the world. I just baby wore a lot and tried to remind myself she was just trying to adjust.

Baby wearing helps. But sometimes the only way you can get anything done is to let them cry/fuss a little . . . Even though my LO could see me in the shower and hear my voice, she still cried to be held. But I needed to be clean (at least once every few days!) to feel human! It does get better!

Has it already been a month???? Wow!

I used to just have to talk to my baby when I would put her down and walk away. That way she could hear me and know that I was near. It took a little time for her to get used to it, but she did.

But, at this age, babies are starting to see more and the world can be a bit scary. So, you are their "happy place" until they get a little more comfortable in their surroundings. Hang in there - it does get better!

Honestly, it just takes time I think. My LO slowly got to the point of playing independently for maybe 20 minutes in the morning n her play mat. Now sheis mobile, and gets herself stuck in random places so I have to move her every 5 minutes! I think I just started a routine of every morning after diaper change and getting dressed I put her on the mat. I always went and picked her up when she cried, but she slowly tolerated it longer and longer.
Baby wearing is the only way I get anything done.

I wish I knew. My eight week old wants to be held and worn like velcro, and we co bed, to boot. If I absolutely have to get something done, I will often just put her in the swing, and sing to her, while I clean the kitchen counters/wash bottles/fix myself lunch. Seems to work for a few minutes, as long as she hears my voice.

I going nuts! LO will be month on Sat. and is at point that if she is awake, I have to be holding her. The one exception is if I put her on her play gym on her back. In which case I have to be with her because otherwise my dogs will try to play with her and sometimes just don't understand she can't play. Also, if she notices I walked away she screams. She will be the happiest baby on the planet staring at the world over my shoulder but the I'm not holding her, screaming ensues but she stops the second I pick her up. I have worn her a bunch but it is hard to get some things done with a baby attached.

How do I teach her it is okay to be alone?
